Air Date: 04/11 & 04/18, unless they add another taping. The Xalapa show would take them thru the rest of May – they would be down with April three days. That’s weird to think about it, but means there’s a big gap with no taping coming after this. Some of those weekends will instead be Lucha Underground tapings, which should finish up season one this month.
Both these tapings look like very normal AAA shows, re-enforcing there’s no big change coming on the shows after Rey de Reyes as far as anyone can tell. The international trios tournament shows would make sense as a starting point, if they’re still going to do it. Though, it’s a bit interesting that all of April appears to be booked and there’s no sign of the tournament to decide who’s going to be on the second AAA team. They’ll still have time in May, but it’s not going to be long of a tournament.
No Alberto in SLP, even with him being Xalapa two days later. Instead, Demon, Fenix and Myzteziz are the main event side. Neither Alberto nor Rey are expected to be on most tapings and there’s going to be a different feel on the shows when they’re not around, but AAA is deep enough that it still feels like a real show without them. This particular match seems to continue the Perro/Myzteziz and Fantasma/Fenix rivalries, which leaves Demon against the mystery man. I can’t really think of anyone who would specifically fit, but perhaps we’ll see someone show up at Rey de Reyes.
Otherwise, it’s the usual malaise after a big show, where not a lot of things are happening until the one show where everything happens. Fifth and fourth matches are random collections of people that don’t quite make sense. Why are the Secta members and Jack & Angelico in separate matches? (Maybe those matches do have something to do with the trios tournament and they’re just not labeling them as such?) Both matches look promising, as does the opener. Psycho Clown and Texano continue to be on opposite sides.
So close to teaming up the Hijo de Pirata Morgan/Electroshock/Kronoz trio, so slow. Unsure if this is AAA’s usual snail speed at progressing storylines, or if they’re not totally convinced on Kronuz. Carta Brava has been overdue for a new gimmick and an actual role for about 18 months and could fit in with that group. Argenis has suddenly become a TV regular again.
Segunda is Mary Apache’s first AAA TV match since July. She’s left and come back to AAA in the meantime, which is probably not all that uncommon for the fringe members of the roster. AAA’s not been using more than four woman a show for a while now, so three ruda on the totem pole is a fringe position. Still, the Apaches get to fight one more time here.

Here’s hoping that Villano IV is the mysterious rudo.
It might be like Naucalpan where they announce a (nontv) show with El Patron a few weeks later. Xalapa is in a baseball stadium, so that should be it.
Nothing seems to tie this to the “World Cup”, maybe everything will be held in a later April show, or they’ll run the process in one of Televisa news-shows? It’s probably their lesser problem with Japanese teams still a big ? (and New Japan having best of superjuniors starting by the 5/23 weekend might rule them out)
+Ltv pointed out all the big names are arriving to the tecnico side, Perro and/or Fantasma said they (AAA office) still have a huge surprise, might not be the one in this show, but who knows. From the independientes it could only be Wagner or Park, but both have already been in AAA recently so it probably wouldn’t really be that big, LA Park could work a feud with El Patron, and that might be somewhat new. It could be Cage again, or someone else from LU, Mack or Killshot.
Someone jumping from cmll, maybe Terrible to work with Alberto (wouldn’t feel big, either), or Corleone, although that seems as unlikely as Evans jumping to CMLL. Mr Niebla? Guess that could work only if they want to reform Los Vipers and bring him in to give some name value to the stable before he’s kicked out 3 tapings later (if he shows up that much).
Or it is Ricky Banderas and they just don’t wanna spoil Rey de Reyes turn.
