missile dropkick rolls Amapola

La Vaquerita, Princesa Sugehit, Skadi vs Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis: [OK] Had some good moments but also really sloppy. Skadi looks so green and not ready for matches at this level. I’m not sure what you do with her, but putting her on Friday night shows does not seem like a good idea at this point and putting her with Dalys also does not seem like a good idea. Sugehit, Vaquerita (who was good here even with little to do), Amapola and Zeuxis could’ve had a better tag match on their own, though they all seemed a little lost on the comeback spot.

Atlantis, La Máscara, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Terrible: [OK] Average match, with everyone doing a little bit of their usual schitk. Mascara and Volador didn’t get along early but go over it as the match went along. Terrible & Mr. Niebla didn’t get along but made up so that was nice for them. It appeared they did a trunks pulled down spot on Mascara that got edited out, in addition to Niebla’s spit. Mascara plays up his act more when Sombra & Rush aren’t around; it comes off as lesser imitation to me but he’s getting the reaction he wants for the crowd.

Dorada can fly

Máscara Dorada vs Negro Casas for the CMLL World Welterweight Championship and in a tournament final match: [great] this is really on the short side – not clipped, the last six months of Negro Casas singles matches have trended that way – but they got a lot done in the time they had. Both guys looked great, crowd strongly rooted for Negro Casas but Mascara Dorada came out on top. The opening falls were super quick but, given how long they were going, that made the most sense. There’s a lot of nice moments in this match, with Dorada’s corner splash miss to start the third fall the most amusing. There was also a lot of Negro holding in place for Dorada to do something, which would’ve been more of a problem if it hadn’t started to back fire on Dorada at the end. I would’ve liked to see Dorada pushed to do a little different stuff, but this was as good a nine minute match as they’re going to do.
