taped 2014-12-16 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
Esfinge, Leo, Omar Brunetti vs Canelo Casas, Puma, Tiger: [OK] Tiger & Puma up to the usual, though not with as interesting people as they’ve had to work against at other times. I can’t tell Leo and Omar apart easily when they’re in the same match. They’ve very generic and similar. It’s kind of the idea, they’re dressed like tag partners, but they should have more character traits for guys who didn’t start as tag partners. Cats did a polite job of setting up Canelo for his moves but kind of scooted him out of the way when there was work to do. JCR argued the Guadalajara guys winning even on fall defied expectations; I wonder what promotion he watches, because CMLL never works that way.
Princesa Sugehit vs Zeuxis in a lightning match: [OK] Solid lightning match. It started slow – there was a chinlock in the first minute – and it never got to a high pace, but they played off each other’s usual moves well and there were a few good near falls. Kind wonder if the cibernetico we didn’t get to see set up the La Mistica near fall (and that La Mistica’s looked better.) Zeuxis’ knee smash looked brutal.
Felino, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero vs Gallo, Stuka Jr., Titán: [OK] Shorted rushed/clipped match – there was even a Dark Angel fitness segment in the middle of it, because running four different matches wasn’t enough ways to slice up the time. It’s a match doesn’t usually happen but we didn’t see much of the match.
Atlantis, La Sombra, Marco Corleone vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible: [OK] A final short match where the Ingobernables weren’t getting along with their partners, yet again. I guess that was better than a long match when they weren’t getting along, but it’s rarely good and wasn’t this time. This was not a satisfying show, to say the least. Match was fine for the time they had and I’m sure I’ll forget it five minutes after I watch this.
