Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Boby Zavala, Okumura, Vangellys: [good] fully in the category of matches where nothing new is done at all, but the usual stuff is done very well at a good rate. It’ll blend together with other stuff but they gave good effort in this one Rudos pulled a full Misterioso in the first fall, losing a fall they absolutely should’ve won. Third fall cut to triple dive was bizarre.
Máscara Dorada, Máximo, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Mephisto: [OK] Even more Kraneo/Porky focused comedy than the previous trios with them. Crowd got into them doing the same spots as usual. Maybe they would’ve been better keeping it at comedy, because both técnicos crashed and burned on their dives. Strange edit on the finish, which maybe Porky didn’t feel like climbing the ropes or Máximo couldn’t make it back in to help? I dunno.
Volador Jr. vs Último Guerrero: [OK] Finished looked to be an accidental three count with Loco Estrada counting Ultimo Guerrero down even even though he kicked out at two. Magadan called it as a two count (only JCR seemed to had been aware of the result) and even the director thought it was a near fall. On the other hand, both guys had gotten in all their usual spots so it’s not impossible it was just a really lame finish. (Past experience suggests it’s probably the referee.) This was otherwise exactly the match it seemed to be on paper, with a third fall heavily built around near falls and dives and almost nothing else. It was amazing when they did the clothesline toughness bit, because it was the one different sequence than usual. Crowd was hotter for the third fall in the previous match, though they were pretty annoyed by the finish.
