Super Porky running

recap

taped 2014-11-28 @ Arena México

La Sugehistica!

Estrellita, Goya Kong, Princesa Sugehit vs Dalys, La Comandante, Tiffany: [OK] Originally I was down on showing GIF of someone getting hurt, but since CMLL has no problem then I guess it’s no problem. There’s no reason to air this match unless they were running a feud off Estrellita; it’s really edited to fit in the time, evertyhing else is edited to fit it in . Not really sure Estrellita/Dalys is a good idea on any level, but whatever, they probably would’ve been better showing up about 3 minutes from the Estrellita injury interview on CMLL Informa than this match. None of the luchadoras seemed surprise by Estrellita’s injury, which is telling. (It was intended to be the finish here, which is different.) Typically, the luchadors wrap up the third fall as quick as possible when someone gets hurt in the second fall, but the third fall here went a normal length and the técnicas got in a comeback for the win as if it was all planned. And it definitely felt that way. Sugehit’s Mistica was nice.

Zacarias was doing better before Felino helped

Felino vs Rey Bucanero in a lightning match: [below average] Bucanero worked rudo during this, which makes no sense where they were going in the cage match. Not that anyone cared. Match was generally nothing with Zacarias taking the worst of it, and then the non finish to tap it off. Not sure how anyone would’ve come out of this match caring more about the feud that was central to the cage match.

Zacarias was the best worker in this match
maybe stop trying this move without the Guerreros

Blue Panther, Máximo, Super Porky vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Shocker, Vangellys: [below average] Not much of a match, but good as comparison. Compare this match to the women’s match. Both rudos and técnicos are thrown off by Maximo’s injury immediately after it happens, not really sure how to end the fall until Panther calls something. (Cavernario gets a second pinfall, which is something that doesn’t normally happen.) The third fall does get some time, but there’s a disjointed feel unlike the fluidness of the women’s match, with guys starting for spots and then giving up halfway thru. It’s still relatively quick to end game, it’s just a long endgame with parts that don’t exactly make sense – Porky does his dive to the outside while his partner is beat, then gets brought right back in because they need someone to beat. That’s how it looks like when someone really gets hurt.

Thunder struggles

Atlantis, La Máscara, Volador Jr. vs Terrible, Thunder, Último Guerrero: Generic match to build Volador/UG. Thunder continues to wander around because his partners don’t trust him to do anything even in trios matches. Atlantis managing two quebradoras with him is one of the great wonders of our time. Those two worked Mascara and Volador were suddenly friendly with no explanation, then Mascara turns on Volador just as randomly at the end for the unsatisfying ending. JCR is aware that Terrible is heavyweight champion, so that makes one person in CMLL. Terrible did not have a good night.
