Day: January 20, 2015
Zeuxis new champion, Blue Panther defeats Sagrado in Guadalajara
CMLL (FRI) 01/16/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Tapatío & Frezzer b Furia Roja & Thunder Boy
Frezzer seems to have lost his doctorate.
2) Évola, Infierno, Ráfaga b El Divino, Javier Cruz Jr., Virgo
Rafaga powerbombed Virgo, who was stretchered out.
3) Great Eku, Pitbull I, Pitbull II b Flash I, Flash II, Gallo
Great Eku, declaring he actually started in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, replaced Pierroth. Eku planched Gallo for the win.
4) Blue Panther b Satánico
Blue Panther submitted Satnaico in a maestros match. Mutual respect after the match.
5) Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado b Delta, Esfinge, Guerrero Maya Jr.
Pierroth replaced Niebla Roja. Rudos took 1/3.
Eku is an Jalisco indy luchador, so he was probably just a replacement – though he may also really be from Puerto Rico for all I know.
CMLL (MON) 01/19/2015 Arena Puebla [Fuego en el Ring, Peridoico Enfoque, Peridoico Enfoque (photos)]
1) Black Tiger & Lestat b Fuerza Chicana & King Jaguar
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Saurón b Astral, Asturiano, Eléctrico
Demus defeated Astral to set up a title match next week.
3) Hombre sin Nombre, Morphosis, Olímpico b Delta, Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr.
4) Zeuxis b Estrellita © [MEX WOMEN]
Zeuxis submitted Estrellita in the third fall to win the title. She’s the Estrellita’s falls on her 6th defense (this match had been canceled twice before.) Zeuxis is the 18th modern champion.
5) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Super Porky DQ Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Thunder
Thunder unmasked Mascara.
6) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Shocker DQ Marco Corleone, Máximo, Valiente
Shocker faked a foul, as Maximo did the week before.
Princesa Sugehit changed sides and Princesa Blanca retired, so the people in charge of the women in CMLL felt they needed to elevate another ruda. (Same deal as the Anniversary cibernetico win.) Considering the other charges, Zeuxis is a pretty good pick.
Zeuxis and Estrellita meet again today in CMLL’s lightning match. Estrellita mentioned she was still have neck problems on Twitter. Maybe that’s a tecnico covering for a loss, or maybe Zeuxis is going to get two wins and Estrellita is going to take some more time off.
Mr. Niebla’s off Friday’s Guadalajara card (Gran Guerrero in) and Saturday Coliseo (Mephisto). No one else from FantasticaMania appears to be off the lineups; judging from updates, they’re getting back in Mexico later today. A CMLL story on Mistico’s return got picked up in a ton of papers and Mistico was hyping his return today, so they’re not rethinking that at all. He can hide more in a trios match.
Arena Mexico tonight has a Blue Panther, Dragon Rojo Jr., Titan vs Euforia, Hechicero, Niebla Roja as the main event. Marco Corleone vs Shocker headline in Guadaljaara.
The preview CMLL sent to Terra of Tuesday’s card has Starman in for Dragon Lee. CMLL updated their own website after and Dragon Lee’s still in there. Both have Stuka replacing Dragon Lee on Sunday. I’m concerned Dragon Lee’s mystery rival from Japan has caught up to him.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s PosterMania.
RobViper has a music video of 09/26/14 AAA.
BxB Fly has music videos of 10/21 Guadalajara and 10/26 Mexico.
Super Libre talked about the Rayman/Makabre (possible) mask match and FantasticaMania.
Segunda Caida reviews Lucha Underground episode 10.
SuperLuchas looks back to Emilio Charles Jr. joining the Guapos.
Cronicas y Leyendas looks at Solitario vs Villano III, Solitario taking Ray Morgan’s hair, and the debut of Perro Aguayo Jr.
Enrique and Oscar preview AAA’s card in Toluca.
Psycho Circus got their hand prints preserved in cement as part of the Plaza de las Estrellas.
CMLL Stellar Moments of the week. Comando Caribeno are #1 on the top 10 list. Cancerbero is #10. Reading that list, it’s really clear how absolutely nothing happened this week in CMLL.
Polvora had the toughest time getting Cavernario out of Japan.

Second defense for Astral. Demus’ first shot at the title in 6 years.

4) Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Volador Jr. vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Olímpico

A surprisingly busy card, with a title match, a special singles match, and a tag main event between normal teams. Opener is even a Puebla vs DF match.

5) Hijo del Ninja, Humberto Garza, Ultimo Ninja vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Silver King
The Ninjas vs Wagner card that’s been hyped a lot locally and on social media. Silver King Jr. in the third match may be a new one, since Silver King Jr. revealed the previous one was in fact a fraud who was just using the name. I’m sure everything is on the up and up here.
Chilanga Mask (SUN) 03/22/2015 Coliseo Coacalco, Coacalco, Estado de México
1) Trauma I & Trauma II vs Mr. Maldito & The Platino
2) Astro Rey Jr. vs Draego, Dragón Celestial, Electro Boy, Emperador Azteca, Freelance, Mike Segura
3) Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Black Terry vs Rey Hechicero vs Aero Boy
4) Negro Navarro vs Fulgor I
5) Impulso vs Jason Gory
6) Arez, Belial, Keira vs David Starr, JT Dunn, Kimber Lee
This is the second Anniversary show, with people coming in from a bit farther, which probably explains why it’s a little bit farther along.
I’d lost track of how many matches had been announced for this show, so it’s good thing this promotion has a website. Kimber Lee is a women wh’s graduated to the CHIKARA tier of US indy promotions in the last year. I’m totally unfamiliar with Dunn & Star but they appear to be a US easy coast indy tag team.
01/17-18 lucha videos
Sunday’s IWRG show hasn’t aired anywhere I currently have access to.
Terra was an immense pain to record and I still only ended up only having the show in lower quality video. I’ve got fragments of the HD that I’m posting as well, but they’re useless to 99% of you.
