Cholo & Ramstein unmasked, Shockercito Pequeno Rey del Aire

Cholo & Ramstein unmasked – photo by Alexis Salazar/CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 01/06/2015 Arena México [KrisZ, Terra]
1) Bengala & Magnus b Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
Bengala replaced Starman. Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Dark Angel, Estrellita, Princesa Sugehit b Dalys, La Comandante, La Seductora
Sugehit replaced Dark Angel on Saturday. Tecnicas took 2/3.
3) Shockercito b Astral, Eléctrico, Fantasy, Último Dragoncito, Demus 3:16, Pierrothito, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Nitro, Mercurio [Pequeno Reyes del Aire]
Tecnicos vs rudos. Elimination order: Fantasy (Demus), Pequeno Olimpico (Dragoncito), Pequeno Nitro, Ultimo Dragoncito, Demus & Electrico (Astral pinning both at the same time), Astral (could not continue after a Pierrothito tope), Mercurio (shockercito), Pierrothito (Shockercito). Leaving Shockercito as the winner.
4) Soberano Jr. & Star Jr. b Cholo & Ramstein [mask]
Cholo & Ramstien were DQed in the first, won the second with the CHOLO DRIVER and Ramstien top rope splash. Cholo lost first in the third fall, Ramstein beat Star Jr. with a top rope Michinoku Driver, and Soberano took out Ramstein to win. Cholo is Carlos Soriano Mendoza, 40 years old, 20 years a wrestler. Ramstein is Francisco Javier Costillo, 40 years old, 21 years experience. Both are from Mexico City.
5) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero b Dragón Rojo Jr., La Máscara, Marco Corleone
6) Volador Jr. b Rey Bucanero
Volador took 1/3 clean to win.

There are some clips of the mask match on instagram but haven’t heard much how the match went. No hair matches challenges after the main event, no word on how hurt Astral is now (though it reads like a planned elimination and not an injury.)

As of 11am, CMLL hadn’t actually posted text results.

5) Atlantis, Máximo, Valiente b Bárbaro Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla

The three kings win the main event.

Alberto el Patron picked up the WWL Heavyweight Championship yesterday afternoon in Puerto Rico. The fans treated him as a tecnico, though it seems like he joined a rudo faction after the match. It doesn’t seem like a next show was announced, but WWL appears to be running once every couple months. The team of Dos Sr/Hijo de Dos/Sicodelico Jr. lost their trios match but they set up a rematch. No next show was announced, but they seemed to draw OK.

Cubed Circle Newsletter invited me to be part of their 2014 wrestling yearbook. There’s a lot of good stuff in there, and I wrote a year in review for lucha libre. It’s a free PDF, so check it out.

Lucha Underground returns tonight with show long Azteca Warfare to determine the first champion. They’ve leaked out a couple clips: one from Super Fly’s entrance to the next, and one from about midway in where Drago appears.  Shows have been fun so far and this one should be as well.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

CMLL posted highlights from 01/02 – looks like the top 3 air on Fox – and stellar moments from the previous week.

ChilangaMask announced Jason Gory (from the US) will be on their 03/22 show.

Mascara Dorada tops CMLL’s top 10 this week, while Super Halcon & Hombre Bala are #10.

Atlantis was among athletes from Jalisco honored on 01/07.

Esfinge will make his Friday night Arena Mexico and any day Arena Coliseo debut this weekend.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 01/13/2015 Arena México
1) Angelito & Stukita vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Flyer, Magnus, Oro Jr. vs Canelo Casas, Disturbio, Metálico
3) Soberano Jr. vs Raziel [lightning]
4) La Vaquerita, Lluvia, Marcela vs La Comandante, La Seductora, Zeuxis
5) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Titán vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado
6) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Valiente vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Rey Bucanero

Seductora working third from the top for no particular reason is a really obvious sign of a short roster. Lightning match will be fun. Kraneo and Guerrero Maya resume their march to the 82nd Anniversary show.

CMLL (TUE) 01/13/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metatrón vs Évola
2) Omar Brunetti & Star Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte & Maléfico
3) Dragon Lee, Esfinge, Pegasso vs Puma, Tiger, Virus
4) Blue Panther Jr., Dragón Rojo Jr., Fuego vs Ephesto, Felino, Hechicero
5) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Euforia, Negro Casas, Shocker

Tercera has some promise.

IWRG (SUN) 01/11/2015 Arena Naucalpan
1) Sky Ángel vs Hip Hop Man
2) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo vs Ciclon Black, Dr. Killer, Royer Boy, Tony Rivera
Roller Boy’s name has changed?
3) Pantera I, Relámpago, Súper Nova vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Canis Lupus, El Hijo del Diablo
4) Chicano vs Eterno
5) Hijo De Dos Caras © vs Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 [IWRG Rey del Ring]
Dos Caras first defense.

Poster doesn’t list who’s champion in the main event and I could not remember who was champion until I looked it up. This is how you know the title is pointless. Dos has two.

Chicano/Eterno figures to be bloody.

It appears there’s no IWRG show today; they haven’t released a poster.
