best wedding ever

Estrellita, Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit vs La Comandante, Makoto, Narumiya: [OK for craziness] No idea what order I post these things, should I ever get around to doing that again, but this is the last match with Makoto and Narumiya for me. I think I’ll be yelling “what was THAT spot?” less often. First fall was edited as if Lluvia and Narumiya never came in, so we can only wonder how that went. Lluvia was barely in elsewhere. The Japanese women did sell Sugehit’s kicks more than anyone else has ever done. Once again, when it came time to do team work spots, Makoto largely stood on the apron and Narumiya did a lot of running around. The third face had some a couple missed dropkicks which were sold anyway, and then Makoto got dropkicked on the face anyway because reasons. Comandante and Sugehit has some a good near fall sequence which probably should’ve been saved for a better match. This was a very rare match where Monito was out with the women, and they didn’t take the chance to attack him. They might have not been allowed.

was that dropkick supposed to hit? it’s so far off I’m not even sure.

Volador tope

Titán, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys: [GOOD] The best TRT match in a while. It didn’t break new ground, as they’ve faces these same guys in different combinations for a long time now, but the rudos seemed to be working hard and their team work was on point (especially in the closing sequences of both falls.) The técnicos had a regular outing and this match was only in the 10 minute range, but it was a worthwhile watch. Tiger pushing about how great the en Busca de un Idolo tournament is a bit odd consider he’s at the announce desk and Vangellys was in this match. He was praising the trio after the match too. I dunno.

Niebla Roja takes a hard corner dropkick

Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero vs La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush: [OK] Decent fight most of the time, but it was a couple people short of being good. Of the three guys on the rudo team, Gran Guerrero is the one they trust doing a superbomb? I don’t think I’d trust him to pick up the milk. I don’t trust him to dives after he did this one. I wish we knew what happened on that bizarre looking Sombra dive that they cut away from. It looked like Niebla Roja was out of position on that. Those two did a lot better back in the ring, with Roja looking better as a técnico in this situation than he has previously.

Maximo tope

Máximo vs Rey Escorpión in a lightning match [GOOD] Time away from this feud did it some good; this just clicked better. It was more intense than the Máximo/Escorpion matches had been. Both guys seemed to be turn it up levels from usual as if this was the big meaningful match to decide who was the better man. Rey Escorpion is good, and Maximo knows how to have a big match. Máximo getting kissed (and hating) always works to get a reaction and Máximo coming back from that to cradle Escorpion worked for the win. These breaks in the middle of matches have to go, especially the short ones like this where there isn’t a lot of time left on the other side.
