handspring side kick

Fuego, Titán, Valiente vs Ephesto, Hechicero, Niebla Roja: [GOOD] Live, this was a match we thought had some good moments but left us wanting a bit more (like Mascara Dorada still being in the match.) It comes across a bit better on TV, with the help of some designed and accidental editing. The Titan/Hechicero stuff is the same way – they’re good together (except for the one big botch), but they’re not in against each other a lot. All those times Ephesto stole a match with a surprise cradle have been balancing out of late – Fuego got him here. Hechicero attempted to break the record for the longest a rudo has gone without knowing his partner just got beat (and Ephesto even lied to him by giving him a high ten!) Third fall came off exciting and made me feel like we underrated this one.

triple dive
conjuro fun
Fuego can not be contained by the ring
Mascara Dorada takes quite a fall

Marco Corleone, Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero: [OK] An angle pretending to be a match. What they did was fine for the time they had, but it was just a técnico show as a setup for Thunder’s run-in, building them up just so Thunder could look more impressive in crushing them. (Ultimo Guerrero still got in the senton de la muerte, because of course.) Thunder’s catch of Marco’s Aero Itlaniao looked more impressive in my head than it actually came across in the screen, though it was still a crazy thing to try.

Shocker has no time to move

Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Rush vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Shocker: [OK] This was fine, but I had no desire to watch it again outside the Negro Casas/Rush spots. Rush kind of bailing on the Casas corner dropkick was not cool, but Negro’s repeated headbutts were. Diamante Azul and Mr. Niebla are supposed to be big scary heavyweights and Negro looks more vicious than both of htem. Mascara was clowning a lot and Mr. Niebla and Diamante Azul were an odd fit for this match. Shocker may have been too heavy for Rush to hold on the German suplex at the end, or maybe he just wanted to do another tope.

headbutts!
