IWRG (WED) 10/08/2014 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Oficialito b Aramis
Match was supposed to be Galaxy & Extrano.
2) Galaxy & Sky Ángel b Araña de Plata & Atomic Star
Galaxy switched placed with Aramis.
3) Anubis Black & Hip Hop Man b Dragón Celestial & Imposible
4) Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo b Dr. Cerebro, Metaleon, Veneno
Gringos took 1/3 when Diablo snuck in a foul on Cerbero and Avisman covered for the win.
5) Emperador Azteca, Golden Magic, Kenshi Kabuki b Danny Casas, Eterno, Oficial 911 [super libre]
Rudos took 1/3, the last when Golden Magic was distracted by Oficialito and 911 took advantage for the win.
It looks likes this Oficialito is not one of the previous minis (who are still around Puebla) – this one had “Oficial” on his back instead of 911/AK47/Fierro. Cerbero/Gringos goes on, maybe another Golden Magic title match too.
This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter says Alberto el Patron is missing the WWC shows and will be at the Tijuana show instead. Alberto will be honored tomorrow in San Luis Potosi by the city, which means he’s probably not going to Tlahuelilpan.
Alberto still hasn’t revealed “the real story of his firing from WWE”, teased as recently as last week. If he’s ever going to do it, it seems like it’d happen as soon as the next week. Doing another round of press right now might get more attention for Heroes Inmortales, doing one next week could stir up anger towards WWE right before they come to town.
On last night’s podcast with Dr. Lucha, I think Bryan Alvarez actually was the one who broke lucha news. Bryan said Lucha Underground may have planted false information or taped things that won’t actually here in hopes of the bad info getting out and what actually happened surprising people later on. (I have some theories on what that could be but I don’t want make bad guesses here. That’s what Twitter’s for!)
Yesterday was the originally scheduled premiere date for Lucha Underground, before it was moved to the end of the month. The reason it was moved was because the Unimas Spanish language of the airings couldn’t start until then – but I haven’t seen anything official from the Unimas side that the shows is on. Perhaps it’s something that’ll get settled after the Lucha Underground tapings (season 1, part 1) wrap up this week, but they’re not leaving them much time to start promoting the show before it airs. Unimas is a pretty important part of the overall strategy, because it gives them a much bigger reach than El Rey and a reach to an audience that may be interested in the show but not aware of El Rey even if they have it. Lucha Underground can exist with the Unimas show, but it’s not going to grow they way they imagine it on El Rey alone.
LuchaWorld has a great article on their trip to Lucha Underground, complete with interviews with many of the wrestlers. They also have KrisZ’s news update
Matt Farmer starts a piece looking back at September in Mexico with notes on the biggest events from 1933 to 1974.
Tercera Caida had Super Nova as guest.
Last night’s CMLL Informa had Electrico, Maximo and Shocker as guests. They also pushed 10/31 (Friday) and 11/02 (Sunday, surely in Arena Mexico) as Dia de Muertos themed shows.
Rob has highlights of 06/24/14 CMLL.
Joaquin, La Parka, Hijo del Fantasma, Angelico, Sexy Star and Taya were part of a press conference today to promote the En Mascarados Race on 11/09.
Flamita was officially announced as returning to Dragon Gate in November today. It could be a short stay: his buddies the Millenials accepted a match against Team Veteran for 11/06 match where if Flamita’s team would all be deported to Mexico if they lose. Looking forward to Eita & crew versus the Ninja Turtles!

If a company is already trying to swerve people before their show even debuted, i think thats a bad sign.
Konnan told a fan on twitter they were debuting on Unimas on October 29th. https://twitter.com/Konnan5150/status/520156656463015936
I don’t think Bryan understand tv, its pretty common in the television industry. Doesn’t make it a good or bad thing.I think LU will drive people like Bryan crazy because they are so secretive.
@Lakersfan: I read that message as him saying when it starts on El Rey, not Unimas.
Movies/TV shows may shoot conflicting scenes or change things around in editing when they want to change their storylines after the fact, but Bryan’s suggestion was Lucha Underground was taping bits they knew they were never going to use solely to leak false information out to sites like this. That seems a bit more uncommon or/and a waste of time.
