update notes: one more podcast tonight whenever we get back from Arena Coliseo. Maybe a quick results post tonight depending on the time. Two more Lucha80s reviews should auto post in the next day or so, but probably not any news on Monday. The Tuesday video post is being pushed back to the evening to give me enough time to actually get it done.
Most of the links I have today are Anniversary reaction pieces. LuchaWorld has a recap of the Anniversary show from the stream and Phil did live reviews at Segunda Caida. All the videos I recorded are here.
Atlantis is thrilled to still be masked. Ultimo Guerrero says he isn’t going anywhere, and wanted to use the Atlantida during the match but never quite could get it. He’s also open to hair match feuds.
Black Terry Jr. has video of the finish and Rob has a ton of videos of the show on his Instagram.
La Copa, Cronicas y Leyendas and ESPN Deportes have articles about the meaning of the finish. Los Colisenos talks about where this places Atlantis in history, while La Cathedral calls it a one match show. SuperLuchas says Barbaro Cavernario is the future of CMLL. FWIW, the rumor going around Mexico is he’s back to the full “Barbaro Cavernario” name due to complaints from Cavernario Galindo’s family.
The Ultimo Guerrero/Atlantis results did make the cover of newspapers. No magazines out yet – they’re all supposed to be out on newsstands Monday morning, just before we leave.
Last night, Hechicero made a surprise appearance on the ChilangaMask show in Guadalajara to challenge Black Terry for a match. That’ll happen the next time they run in Monterrey, I believe. Hechicero took a 6 hour bus ride all the way to Guadalajara just to make the challenge, then took the bus all the way back. (CMLL luchadors are prohibited for working for anyone but Arena Coliseo Guadalajara in that town.)
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s Friday news update and KrisZ’s Saturday news update.
ProWrestlingWave says Mary Apache is coming to their 09/23 show.
Hijo del Fantasma says he doesn’t understand why Aerostar is getting a Cruiserweight title shot – he thought Aerostar gave it up to fight Super Fly instead – but he’ll retain the title anyway.
Ohtani’s Jacket writes about Villano III
