Robin Special

Leono, Robin, Sensei vs Canelo Casas, Hijo del Signo, Nitro: [Below Average/OK] It’s a Tuesday segunda, which is a lot of an opener and not a lot to say. This wasn’t just an early match crew, it was an all doomed to go nowhere crew. Like, Canelo Casas did not have a great match, but why would it matter if it he did? It does matter that Nitro wouldn’t get over on his bridging pin, if only because I needed a gif. Crowd was most excited when Nitro just started to swing wildly at Sensei, so maybe do more of that? I dunno. Nothing fundamentally was wrong, but I cared so little that it seems wrong to list it as OK. Not sure if Robin was just making odd fashion choices or if he has a secret tag team with Flyer in some tiny DF promotion.

Nitro probably should not try this again

Black Panther, Starman, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Kamaitachi, Okumura, Puma: [ok/good] Match was strictly fought in pairs of Panther/Puma, Halcón/Kamaitachi, Starman/Okumura, with the last being the weakest match up. Puma seemed to be fighting far lower on the card than he should be but carried Black Panther well. Kamaitachi looked tiny here, like he’s cutting down to get in Soberano’s weight division. (I may have just messed up the video.) Halcón still seems robotic but had some good moments with Kamaitachi.

Okumura’s fault for not holding on
apron back suplex
topes everywhere
Bala tope

Hombre Bala Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte: [OK] Fine enough lighting match. Hombre Bala and Super Halcon are much better together than they are alone, but Bala can manage on his own okay. Arkangel let Bala do his match, but still controlled him when the time right and nicely got into his submission at the end. Isis didn’t do anything dumb.

Asai tornillo
poor Fuego gets hit by a truck

Delta, Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Hechicero, Kráneo, Ripper: [GOOD] Better than expected; everyone wanted to make this match good. This one was good from the start, with the rudos aggressively taking the early portion of the match and the técnicos good as underdogs. Hechicero’s interactions with Maya and Fuego were nice (unintentional) teases of promising singles matches. Ripper looked more interesting than usual and Kraneo was very good. Kraneo Special on Guerrero Maya looked super extra painful.

Delta takes this as hard as possible
Hechicero moves right into position at the last moment
dives everywhere
brainsbuster!
Kraneo breaks Guerrero Maya

CMLL

La Máscara, Máximo, Valiente vs Mr. Niebla, Shocker, Tiger: [OK] All the técnicos were in a bit of goofball mode (including Valiente, perhaps driven insane by his partners) but they could barely keep up with the antics of Mr. Niebla. Shocker was having a separate totally serious match with Máximo, which didn’t fit in at all here. Tiger did some superkicks. Mascara is now back to getting along with his partners while still being annoying new La Mascara. Máximo/Shocker could be entertaining if either guys wrestles the match the other guy wants to wrestle, but that’s maybe not in the cards

not sure how this hurt so much
Shocker’s German suplex as 2014 move of the year
this match has driven Valiente insane
Maximo easy tope
Valiente hard tope
