Sky Kid & Smaker © vs Boby Zavala & Olímpico for the Occidente Tag Team Championship: [OK] Simple title match. Usual many dives, but not a lot of exciting parts in between them. They made it an easy title match so the young Guadalajara guys would not be pressed, but they really need to be- they’re just doing common high flyer style, nothing that really makes them stick out and nothing that really interacts with the crowd. This match was more about them the new champions, but there was hardly anything memorable. Finish seemed random and looked like Zavala hurt himself on his winning move.
Ángel de Oro, Sagrado, Super Porky vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Ripper: [OK] Usual Porky versus the Invasors comedy. No sign of the Angel de Oro/Sagrado issue, five days before it was happening. Mr. Aguila seemed in good form, except for him and Oro botching the finish. Angel de Oro and Kraneo having a spinning contest was alone better than the last match. I have strange tastes. Also, Angel de Oro falling off the apron because Super Porky’s sit shook the ring so much was great. Maybe Angel de Oro’s true calling is as a comedy wrestler? Successful comedy wrestlers tend to do the same spots in every match, so he’s got that down. Kraneo takes great bumps for everything.
Atlantis, Blue Panther, Volador Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Shocker, Último Guerrero: [OK] The one in a thousand times Ultimo Guerrero actually wins on his front suplex. Sub 10 minute match with a laughably short second fall, this was ok action just to keep the Atlantis/Ultimo Guerrero feud going. Blue Panther seemed like the best guy in this match, with neat mat wrestling to start and good fire later on. Crowd reacted strong to the feud and to Volador. I don’t know if Shocker/Volador would work but it seems like something they might as well try.
