recap

taped 2014-07-05 @ Hard Rock Hotel, Vallarta, Nayarit

doesn’t even need to duck to avoid the clothesline!

Jennifer Blake, La Jarochita, Mascarita Sagrada, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Mamba, Mini Abismo Negro, Sexy Star, Taya Valkyrie: Set the tone for the rest of the show: not a log of big moves, but a lot of yelling and a slower pace. There really wasn’t much to this, despite being 10 minutes and eight people. I’m assuming the guy in the viking mask was one of the people who bought the travel package and won a spot on the show at the wrestling training earlier. He did remember his one spot, but didn’t really react like a normal luchador up until then.

Angélico, Australian Suicide, Fénix vs El Apache, Pentagón Jr., Súper Fly: Same sort of thing in this match. Pace was better here, but they were still keeping it relatively simple. How bad would Fenix have to be limping for someone to stop him from actually wrestling the match. I feel bad for him, but it also becomes completely absurd watching him. Australian Suicide and Apache had a fun sequence at the start; that would be a entertaining match if such matches were possible here.

Monster splash

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King, Texano Jr.: The most by the numbers mailed in Consejo versus Psycho Circus match yet, which covers a lot of ground. Short one too, not lasting more than 8 minutes. Clowns were actually doing stuff, Consejo was just there to kill time before the comeback. Finish looked liked it was going to fall apart three ways. Hijo del Tirantes decided he was actively a rudo this week. They really should broadcast the coin toss he used to decide this every show. He needed up counting the pin at the end and it never makes any sense, but whatever.

Pentagon low blow dorpkick

Cibernético & Myzteziz vs Averno & Chessman: Nothing approaching a real match, lasting just six minutes and with Pentagon and Super Fly joining in as if it was a 4 on 2 handicap. They were really just there so the técnicos would have more people to do moves to at the end. This show clearly doesn’t count in every sense of the word, but it was still weird to see Averno and Chessman put down so totally and easily here.
