3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Dr. Cerebro, Relámpago, Veneno

Tecnicos took 2/3, when Sagrada faked a foul.
5) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 © b Hijo De Dos Caras [IWRG Rey del Ring]
Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000’s third defense. Demon Clown hit Hijo de Dos with a chair at one point, and Mascara retained with a backcracker.

Pretty decent turnout considering the lineup.

A five minute recap/highlight package of this weekend’s LuchaMania show.

Segunda Caida reviews Satanico, Hijo Del Santo, Emilio Charles Jr. vs Negro Casas, Shocker, Mr. Niebla.

LuchaMania Monterrey, Volador/Dragon, Coliseo tag title match

LM (SAT) 07/05/2014 Gimnasio Factores Mutuos, Monterrey, Nuevo León [@bantallerMigrejok (Facebook)Paty Reyes Viera (Facebook)]
1) Titanik b Alberto Dos RiosSlayer Boy
11:44.
2) Arez b Dralion
16:01
3) Tony Rodriguez b KaientaiErick OrtizKratozLow RiderAntonio Garza
14:10. Low Rider and Antonio Garza were added to the match. Tony Rodriguez and Erik Ortiz discussed a title match for the next show – which means there’s another show.
4) Charles Lucero b Black Terry
10:45
5) Dark Angel b Princesa Sugheit
15:45
6) Caifan b Rey Hechicero
33:42. Caifan asked for a shot at the Poder y Honor championship, which Hechicero agreed to.

This was the show LuchaMania Monterrey put on themselves. (Don’t expect a luchablog show this century.)  33 minutes of Caifan and Rey Hechicero sounds like it must’ve been great but the best sign was the building seemed to be pretty full and they were building to a next show – things must’ve gone OK.

CMLL (SUN) 07/06/2014 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Star Jr. b Akuma & Cholo Molotov & Star Jr. vs Akuma & Cholo, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito b Astral, Fantasy, Stukita Astral, Fantasy, Stukita vs Demus 3 on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3, Demus dropping Fantasy on his head with the Demus Driver for the deciding pin.
3) Boby Zavala, Metálico, Misterioso Jr. b Oro Jr., Rey Cometa, Sagrado Oro Jr., Rey Cometa, Sagrado vs Boby Zavala, Metalico, Misterioso Jr., on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 2/3. The last fall was missed due to feed problems, but Metalico & Oro Jr. continue to feud and Metalico took Oro’s mask after the match.
4) Tritón b Skándalo [lightningTriton vs Skandalo in a lightning match [partial[, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Triton defeated Skandalo with the guillotine legdrop
5) Euforia, Kamaitachi, Okumura b Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Euforia, Kamaitachi, Okumura, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3, Okumura & Kamaitachi beating Delta & Guerrero Maya to set up a title match next week.
6) Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mr. Niebla b Marco Corleone, Máximo, Volador Jr. Marco Corleone, Maximo, Volador Jr. vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mr. Niebla, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3. Dragon Rojo showed no signs of a turn, and actually beat Volador in the third with a foul. That set up a (non-title) match for next week.

Better show than previous weeks, from what we saw. Feed problems are more frustrating when there’s only one live show a week. (Also frustrating: the insane amount of plugs for CMLL Informa & Juicio Final. About a plug every single fall.) Next week is back at Arena mexico.

CMLL (SUN) 07/06/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Piraña b Reycko
2) El Tapatío & Meteoro b Ángel del Mal & Relampago Azul
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Jocker & Thunder Boy b El Brillante & El Divino
Thunder Boy’s first match in mroe than a year. Rudos took 1/3.
4) León Blanco b Espectrum
Mask ripping; these two have been feuding. Leon won clean.
5) Titán b CachorroBlack PantherStuka Jr.GalloTerribleRey BucaneroCavernarioHechiceroMaléfico [cibernetico]
Battle royal set sides as Titán, Maléfico, Hechicero, Cavernario and Terrible vs El Gallo, Cachorro, Black Panther, Stuka and Rey Bucanero. Malefico and Stuka were out right away (foul/mask pull), followed by Cachorro (Terrible), Terrible (Black Panther), Hechicero (Black Panther), Black Panther (Cavernario), Gallo (Titan), Terrible listed again – must be Bucanero one of these times (via Cavernario), leaving teammates Titan and Cavernario. Titan beat Cavernario for the win.

Felino, Tiger, Olimpico and Veneno beat Guerrero Maya Jr., Valiente, Maximo and Heavy Metal in the main event of a show honoring Pierroth at Arena Lopez Mateos. Metal turned on his partners to join Felino and Tiger. Metal’s been working a few shows with his CMLL family, despite still being listed on the AAA site as part of their roster.

Latin Lover says that when his current stint on “Bailando por un Sueno” ends tonight, he’ll be looking for new work as an actor, a host, or even a luchador. (He’d prefer to find a non-luchador job.)

A column in Criterio Hidalgo is critical of Rush for being aggressive towards a ringside photographer, but one of the comments claim it was actually Mr. Niebla who caused the issue. Everyone, just be nicer to camera people.

The CEO of Televisa was in the crowd for Friday’s CMLL show. (He’d probably have better seats if there was something  more to that.)

Super Libre interviewed Malefico and luchadors from Arena Jalisco.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 07/13/2014 Arena México
1) Metatrón & Soberano Jr. vs Canelo Casas & Guerrero Negro Jr.
2) Dragon Lee, Sagrado, Tritón vs Misterioso Jr., Puma, Sangre Azteca
3) Ángel de Oro, Super Porky, Titán vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys
4) Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr. © vs Kamaitachi & Okumura [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Delta & Maya’s second defense.
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Valiente vs Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla
6) Volador Jr. vs Dragón Rojo Jr.

I was just noting how CMLL never ever runs non-title singles matches as main events any more, so here’s a non-title singles main event. Oh well. (I would presume this means Volador is winning, or they would’ve just set it up for Dragon Rojo to defend his title.)

That and the tag title match have chances to be good. The rest of the show has good wrestlers in unfavorable positions for matches I’d like to see.

CMLL (SUN) 07/13/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Tapatío vs El Piraña
2) Dr. Frezzer & Marvel vs El Yaqui & Satara
3) Explosivo & William Rock vs Évola & Jocker
4) Leo, Omar Brunetti, Virgo vs Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno, Sádico
5) Black Panther vs Hechicero
6) La Máscara & Rush vs Kráneo & Mr. Águila

Hechicero starts his secret mission to get singles matches with everyone who even tried to get into the En Busca de un Idolo tournament. Main event main have a metric ton of goofing around.

3) Emperador Azteca, Imposible, Metaleon vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo
4) Golden Magic, Relámpago, Rey Horus vs Bestia 666, Damián 666, Eterno
5) LA Park vs Máscara SagradaPirata MorganDemon ClownDr. Wagner Jr.Hijo De Dos Caras [IWRG IC HEAVY, Ladder]
vacant championship; Vampiro last won the title and immediately retired.

Epic possibilities for the main event, with The Pride of The Great White North Demon Clown attempting to climb a ladder making this must seen itself. (Also, much like WWE knows, the secret benefit of a ladder match is you can include top names without needing to get any of them to job.)

Rey Horus making his debut here is exciting for other reasons (it’ll be really good!), though I’m not totally sure it’ll happen. the last time Damian 666 was mention in IWRG, he was still waiting for his plane to take off from Tijuana.

07/05 AAA TV Results (Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta)

AAA TV (SAT) 07/05/2014 Hard Rock Hotel, Vallarta, Nayarit [AAAInformador]
1) Mamba, Mini Abismo Negro, Sexy Star, Taya Valkyrie b Jennifer Blake, La Jarochita, Mascarita Sagrada, Pimpinela Escarlata
Taya & Sexy beat Jarochita.
2) Angélico, Australian Suicide, Fénix b El Apache, Pentagón Jr., Súper Fly
Suicide defeated Pentagon Jr. with the tornillo SSP.
3) Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown b Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King, Texano Jr.
Psycho Clown splash on Silver King.
4) Cibernético & Myzteziz b Averno & Chessman
Pentagon and Super Fly ran in, but Cibernetico & Myzteziz defeated Chessman & Averno at the same time to win the match.

Air Date: 07/19

A show! There’s another article from Informador about some of the activities with the luchadors, but there’s not to much to say about this show.

This week’s TV stated there’s a taping on 08/06 in Teziutlan, Puebla, but AAA will run out of TV before that date. That show was pushed back a few weeks, so AAA’s likely still working on a replacement late July show and just hadn’t announced it yet by the time they finished TV but will announce it sometime in the next week. That unknown taping is the key taping, since there’s still no specific TripleMania matches for the top guys (outside of Texano/Psycho.)

Indeseables win, Juicio Final, AAA at Hard Rock Vallarta

CMLL (FRI) 07/04/2014 Arena México [CMLL, MedioTiempo]
1) Hombre Bala Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. b Cancerbero & Raziel
tecnicos take 2/3.
2) Dalys, La Seductora, Tiffany b La Vaquerita, Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit
Straight falls. Tecnicas were DQed in the first for striking the referee, then Seductora pulled Sugehit’s mask and pinned her in the second.
3) Máximo, Rey Cometa, Super Porky b Rey Bucanero, Tiger, Vangellys
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Terrible b Blue Panther [lightning]
Blue Panther replaced Diamante Auzl on Tuesday. Terible pulled out the win.
5) Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Titán, Valiente
Rudos took 2/3, UG using a Gran Guerrero distraction to get the win. UG again demanded a date for the mask match with Atlantis.
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush b Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Shocker
Two falls. Shocker was going to beat Sombra, but Rush fouled Shocker and turned over the pin.

Earlier, Apolo Valdez said the Juicio Final card would be revealed on Wednesday. I have no idea what be, which suggests they haven’t done the greatest job of building to something. They’ve got a lot of feuds but haven’t really narrowed on one. The women’s match here suggested that Seductora/Sugehit in a singles mask match (but definitely not a main event) is possible, but Marcela and Blanca return next week.

AAA tapes tonight at Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta. This is part of a weekend vacation package, so figure a show more about making the people spending money to go to a resort happy than advancing storylines (though it’s airing close enough to TripleMania that they may be need to set up something.) Main event is Myzteziz and Cibernetico versus Averno and Chessman. It’s only a four match card, starting at an earlier than usual tie of 6pm (or thereabouts.)

The weekend of events kicked off last night with red carpet entrances by the luchadors and mingling with the fans. An AAA official says the plan is to come back here around this date every year and notes the October Hard Rock show is in Cancun. Interestingly, that AAA official is Bernardo Guzman of Tercera Caida fame. He’s listed as director of programming content. Bernardo disappeared from the CMLL Puebla broadcasts in April, which I assumed was some TVC Deportes cut back – I guess it probably still was in a way.,

El Apache is quoted on an Xalapa site as saying there’s a possibility of CMLL and AAA working together. I do not put much stock in that – it reads like the interviewer asks if it could happen and Apache told him what he wanted to hear.

Rob has highlights of 11/03/13 AAA in Tonala.

The 07/25 Mil Mascaras appearance in Guadalajara will also include Canek, Dos Caras, Sicodelico and others.

Myzteziz vs Averno in a singles match, their first one since Mistico’s final match in CMLL, is being advertised for 07/17 in Coatepec, Veracruz. It may be someone just misreading the lineup and those two guys are part of a trios instead.

Ohtani’s Jacket reviews some of the En Busca de un Idolo tournament.

CMLL (FRI) 07/11/2014 Arena México
1) Bam Bam & Eléctrico vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Starman, Stigma vs Kamaitachi, Okumura, Skándalo
3) Dark Angel, Estrellita, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
4) Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Super Porky vs Ephesto, Hechicero, Pólvora
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Cavernario, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero
6) La Sombra vs Shocker

Sombra and Shocker is a rematch from a recent Puebla show. Bufete del Amor team up once again, with Cavernario getting a semimain. The two feuding women who weren’t on last night’s show are on next week’s. That should be a good match. Minis match looks good as well
