Hombre Bala, Stuka Jr., Super Halcon vs Kamaitachi, Maléfico, Shigeo Okumura:Stuka/Malefico feels like a totally random feud. Nothing really to it, yet they’re ripping up each other’s gear. Malefico throws a good chop, stays perfectly still when he needs to, doesn’t do much interesting, still wins the match. It’s too bad Super Halcón was in En Busca de un Idolo and not Hombre Bala. They got the wrong tag partner for that.
Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Super Porky vs Mr. Águila, Rey Bucanero, Terrible: A Super Porky special. Crowd got into the usual comedy well. Mr. Aguila was half painted out; I don’t know what BAC that equates. Everything was about normal.
La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Gran Guerrero, Shocker, Último Guerrero: We’ve found something Gran Guerrero is good at! His chop battle with Rush in the first fall and La Sombra in the second were loud and painful looking. They just need to work everything around him only chopping people and he’s going to be OK. This match actually dramatically overachieved in the first couple falls, almost complete brawls with interesting dynamics. UG has been in matches with Rush’s crew, but Atlantis always has been in them too so they could go off and do their thing and ignore everything else going on. No Atlantis this time, and so the Guerreros had to fight. They didn’t really want to help with Shocker – and kind of left him to die by the end of the match – but the Guerreros were not going to be disrespected by these young punks and took the fight right back to them. The match kind of lost steam in the third fall, but the first two were much better than I was figuring.
