TripleMania to be on iPPV for $8

TripleMania will indeed be on iPPV. There’s a website dedicated to the show at triplemaniatv.com. The promo video is for last year’s show, but the countdown timer is to this year’s show. The iPPV is $8 (half as much as last year, at least in the world where anyone paid for last year.)

It looks like a media company called Siouxx is putting on the show. They have a small website. They have a Twitter account. The Twitter account is about a week old. The FAQ on the TripleMania simply copies and pastes text from wikipedia. Everything in this paragraph concerns me, let’s just move onto a new one.

The underlining technology appears to be FreeCaster.TV, which looks a bit like uStream but has a whole bunch of options and, most importantly, is not actually uStream.

To repeat from last weekend: the official luchablog position on TripleMania is that it’s really cool that they’re trying iPPV again and I’ll be ordering it live, but you should probably spend your Sunday night doing something else. Only pay for the show if suckers like me find out they actually air it. $8 is not a lot money for a iPPV, this is more about wasting your time and not getting any answers for a couple hours. I hope this works, but there’s a mess of red flags.

Estrellita keeps her title, Stuka loses his, lots of injuries, Revolucionarios

CMLL (TUE) 07/01/2014 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Flyer & Sensei b El Rebelde & Espanto Jr.
Tecnicos took 1/3, after Espanto suffered a knee injury in the second and was beat in the third.
2) Angelito, Bam Bam, Eléctrico b Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia
Tecnicos took 2/3, with Pequeno Violencia suffering a knee injury in the second fall. He went to the hospital. Mercurio rallied in the third but was beat.
3) Cachorro, Dragon Lee, Tritón b Misterioso Jr., Sangre Azteca, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 1/3, Sangre Azteca also suffering a knee injury.
4) Estrellita © b Zeuxis [MEX WOMEN]
Zeuxis took fall one with La Roca, Estrellita tied it up with a tapatia, and Estrellita submitted Zeuxis in the third to keep her title. Estrellita’s fifth defense.
5) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Marco Corleone b Dragón Rojo Jr., Felino, Rey Escorpión
Felino replaced Boby Zavala on Friday. Rey Escorpion and Dragon Rojo did not get along again. Tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Ángel de Oro, Valiente, Volador Jr. DQ Ephesto, Euforia, Hechicero
Tecnicos took 2/3, Euforia fouling Valiente in the third.

An all tecnico victory show, though it likely wasn’t planned to be that way. Three injuries in the first three matches is unfortunate. Violencia’s injury was treated as the most serious one, and it may be a while before we know what’s going on there since he’s not on any upcoming card. Sangre is currently listed as working Tuesday in Guadalajara,

Valiente/Euforia seems like the start of a feud – and would make sense as a decision match for Mephisto’s Light Heavyweight championship if he’s not going to be back soon, but that’s not how CMLL usually does things.

Dragon Rojo’s problems with his partners have gotten their own CMLL press release. On Twitter, Dragon has no idea why this is happening. Me too.

CMLL (TUE) 07/01/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Metatrón & Omar Brunetti b Acertijo & Évola
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Magnus, Starman, Stigma b Demonio Maya, El Yaqui, Ráfaga
Tecnicos took 1/3
3) Goya Kong, Marcela, Silueta b Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Tiffany
Tecnicas took 2/3.
4) Maléfico b Stuka Jr. © [OCCIDENTE LH]
Malefico took falls 1/3 to win the championship, the last with an unseen foul. Stuka falls in first defense, the third straight champion to do so.
5) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Solar I DQ Gran Guerrero, Negro Navarro, Shocker
Team Solar took falls 1/3, the last when Shocker pulled off Mascara’s mask.
6) Último Guerrero b Atlantis
UG took 2/3, the last when Gran Guerrero distracted the ref and Ultimo pulled Atlantis’ mask.

A UG/Atlantis match! Semimain does indeed seem a waste of Negro Navarro & Solar (or something right out of IWRG.)

Pequeno Black Warrior told people he was leaving CMLL after losing his hair match on Monday, according to Porra Fresa. I can’t see him being back in AAA but he’ll probably be around. (He also may be persuaded to stick around if the rudos need someone to fill in for Pequeno Violencia.)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

The El Sol de Puebla recap of Monday’s show confirms Stigma challenged Virus to a title match. Maybe Virus has another defense coming?

Rob has highlights of 04/11/14 CMLL.

CMLL Informa will have Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugehit, Seductora, Marcela, Dragon Rojo and a Dark Angel fitness section.

Segunda Caida has reviews of CMLL LATV 05/18/14 and Dr. Wagner Jr., Heavy Metal, Místico vs Olímpico, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero.

Chessman talks about his match in Nayarit.

La Comandante is #1 on CMLL’s top 10 list.

Lineup

CMLL (TUE) 07/08/2014 Arena México
1) Bengala & Molotov vs Akuma & Cholo
2) Astral, Fantasy, Stukita vs Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico
3) Esfinge, Oro Jr., Star Jr. vs Cancerbero, Metálico, Raziel
4) Black Panther vs Puma [lightning]
5) Blue Panther, Cachorro, Titán vs Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla
6) Atlantis, Rey Cometa, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Euforia, Rey Escorpión

Fun tecnico team in the main event is going to get an easy win over a dissolving rudo side. Semimian should be good too; maybe Cavernario is getting his title shot at Titan and that’s the start of it? Esfinge is back to take part in the Oro/Metalico feud.

CMLL (TUE) 07/08/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metatrón & Virgo vs Ráfaga & Sádico
2) Esfinge & Leo vs Artillero & Súper Comando
3) Omar Brunetti, Sky Kid, Smaker vs Boby Zavala, Olímpico, Sangre Azteca
4) Diamante Azul, Máximo, Volador Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Pierroth, Pólvora
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible

Rush fighting TRT is a bit more normal. Semimain is going to be of a challenge – and possibly a changed match. Diamante Azul was pulled from Friday (for Blue Panther) and Sunday (for Maximo) shows, and hasn’t been around in over a month.
