Demon Clown versus Grond XXX, Rocky Lobo & Jinzo to NOAH

IWRG (SUN) 06/08/2014 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Ciclon Black & Sky Ángel b Kaling Black & Zurdog
2) Látigo & Metaleon b Anubis Black & Hip Hop Man
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Alan Extreme, Golden Magic, Imposible
Rudo took 1/3. AK-47 faked an injury and 911 (already eliminated) snuck a foul in on Golden Magic.
4) Relámpago, Súper Nova, Toscano DQ Eterno, Trauma I, Trauma II
Trauma II jumped Super Nova before the match. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Eterno tried to sneak in a foul on Toscano but was caught and disqualified.
5) Dr. Cerebro, Grond XXX, Veneno DQ Apolo Estrada Jr., Demon Clown, X-Fly
Tecnicos took 1/3, the last when Demon Clown accidentally hit the referee when trying to get to Groon

Those final three finishes were foul, foul for a DQ, and DQ. Eh. From what I saw of last week, Grond is better than Demon Clown and Grond is not good at all. Demon Clown appears to be here to lose his mask to someone – I was figuring Hijo de Dos Caras at first, not sure now, and it also depends on IWRG not forgetting about the idea and doing something else (as usual.)

Next week is the Wagner/Hijo de Dos Caras vs LA Park/Pirata Morgan tag match main event, as well as the Gringos vs Oficials tag matches (none of which was really built up here.)

Rush & La Mascara want to retire Negro Casas & Shocker.

Segunda Caida reviews Shocker & Universo 2000 vs Marco Corleone & Kenzo Suzuki and Lucha Azteca 05/17.

CMLL promo for next Friday.

Negro Casas, Sagrado, Fray Tormenta and Nino Tormenta are mentioned as wrestling on 06/21 in Cozumel.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Rocky Lobo and Jinzo were announced NOAH’s upcoming tour, which runs from June 21st to June 28th. Jinzo won the Super Crazy led NOAH tryout a few months ago, and Lobo was in Dragon Gate last year. No sign of Vengador Radioactivo, who finished second in the tournament but was said to be going with Jinzo (and Lobo wasn’t mentioned at that time.) The next NOAH tour listed is the July Junior Heavyweight tournament, and it’s possible one or both could be sticking around Japan for that as well.

CMLL (SUN) 06/15/2014 Arena México
1) Flyer & Starman vs Espanto Jr. & Zayco
2) Estrellita, Lluvia, Marcela vs Dalys, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca
3) Blue Panther, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Olímpico
4) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Super Porky vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys
5) Virus © vs Fuego [CMLL SL]
Virus’ 6th defense.
6) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Valiente vs Mr. Niebla, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero

Father’s day show. Fathers (or anyone claiming to be) can take photos with edecans before the show. They’ve also done a luchadora dance number on these shows in past years.

Virus reached three years of being a champion this year. CMLL’s been fairly consistent in calling that title the “peso de ligero” championship the last few times, so maybe the ‘super’ distinction has been quietly dropped. I’ve asked, let’s see if I get an answer.

Main event is Mr. Niebla’s first match since his latest break. He’s back the show after they’re finally doing the tag team championship match he was supposed to be in. It was his comments judging which seemed to get him into trouble this time, so I wonder if he’ll get to be back in the role Friday (the last day for the judging panel.)

CMLL (SUN) 06/15/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & El Divino vs Acertijo & Demonio Rojo
2) Explosivo vs Jocker
3) Exterminador & León Blanco vs Espectrum & Ráfaga
4) Black Metal, Esfinge, Gallo, Rey Cometa vs Boby Zavala, Cavernario, Demonio Maya, Sádico
5) Goya Kong & Silueta vs Tiffany & Zeuxis
6) Titán © vs Dragón Rojo Jr. [MEX WELTER]
Titan’s fourth defense.

Dragon Rojo is the world middleweight championship, challenging for the lesser national championship. In a previous era, Dragon Rojo would have to immediately vacate the national championship upon winning because he couldn’t live up to the demands of both. Here, Titan’s just going to win so it doesn’t really mater.

This makes absolutely no sense, but the words on the CMLL championship belts mean absolutely nothing at this point.
