1) Flyer & Robin b Fuerza Chicana & Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Blue Center, Pequeño Warrior, Saurón b Astral, Asturiano, Eléctrico
Asturiano ended up with an arm injury, then Warrior pulled Asturiano’s mask and beat him.
3) Kamaitachi, Puma, Shigeo Okumura b Rey Cometa, Stigma, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took 1/3
4) Kráneo, Morphosis, Ripper b Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Titán
Rudos took 2/3. Angel de Oro returns with a loss.
5) Pólvora, Rey Escorpión, Shocker b Atlantis, La Sombra, Marco Corleone
Shocker snuck in a foul on Sombra for the win.
Asturiano versus Pequeno Black Warrior appears to be the Arena Puebla Anniversary main event, which seems very unkind to the Arena Puebla fans. Asturiano’s very good, but he could use better competition.
CMLL’s Tuesday show has nothing in particular. The CMLL preview hypes the return of Angel de Oro, who actually returned last night but close enough. His match, with Rey Cometa & Fuego versus Rey Escorpion, Morphosis and Kamaitachi, might end up being the best on the show. Main event is La Mascara, Valiente, Stuka versus Terrible, Mephisto, and Boby Zavala.
The more interesting CMLL show today is over in Guadalajara, with a Negro Casas versus Rush main event. That should air on 06/14, but the Guadalajara shows have had short edited matches the last couple of weeks. This is their second singles match – the last was in November – and while they still tease a hair match occasionally, it doesn’t appear to be in the plans any time soon.
Sin Cara, Argenis, Black Warrior and Averno refused to wrestle on Sunday in Campeche due to issues with the promoters. It appears they were working a two match weekend swing in the area, but the promoter didn’t pay them after Saturday and they walked out when he still didn’t pay him on Sunday. The local luchadors on the show are taking up a legal complaint, saying the promoters didn’t pay the top guys for their hotels or the transportation. The promoters are said to owe 150,000 pesos ($11,598) to various people in total. It was inevitable the Sin Cara post-WWE tour around Mexico would run into promoters who were in over their head, but it’s still disappointing when it happens.
Taya says she and Sexy Star will work together to make sure one of La Sociedad will win the Reina de Reinas title shot match.
El Angel of Mazatlan retired with a win.
There’s a lucha libre photo exhibition in Xalapa starting on the 7th.
CMLL (SUN) 06/08/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Índigo & Meteoro vs El Piraña & Relampago Azul
2) El Ídolo & Javier Cruz Jr. vs Furia Nazi & Sádico
3) León Blanco vs Infierno
4) Black Metal & Esfinge vs Canelo Casas & Demonio Maya
5) Gallo © vs Boby Zavala [FULL HEAVY]
Gallo is champion, first defense
6) La Sombra, Rey Cometa, Titán vs Cavernario, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Águila
Gallo seems a good bet to keep the title, since he’s still feuding with Arkangel half the time. Mr. Aguila has almost only been working Sunday Arena Coliseo Guadalajara shows of late, which seem the least valuable to work. That may just be skewed due to the lack of TV, but it has seemed as though Aguila’s previous issues got a response in CMLL’s booking.
CMLL (MON) 06/09/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Leono, Magnus, Paris vs Akuma, Ares, Espíritu Maligno
2) Astral, Asturiano, Eléctrico vs Blue Center, Pequeño Warrior, Saurón
3) Ángel de Oro, Pegasso, Tritón vs Sangre Azteca, Skándalo, Virus
4) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Rey Bucanero, Rey Escorpión, Terrible
5) La Sombra vs Shocker
Sombra/Shocker should be interesting. As will Sombra versus whoever replaces Shocker.
