CMLL (SUN) 05/18/2014 Arena México [Terra, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Magnus & Molotov b Camorra & Zayco Magnus & Molotov vs Camorra & Zayco, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Tecnicos took 1/3. Nothing noteworthy to the finish (minimal follow up to last week.)
2) Espanto Jr., Hooligan, Nitro b Dragon Lee, Metatrón, Star Jr. Dragon Lee, Metatron, Star Jr. vs Espanto Jr., Hooligan, Nitro, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3.
3) Pólvora, Tiger, Virus b Black Panther, Stigma, Tritón Black Panther, Stigma, Triton vs Polvora, Tiger, Virus, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3.
4) Fuego b Felino [lightningFuego vs Felino in a lightning match, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Fuego won in 5:15 when his head drove into Felino’s on a quebrada, knocking Felino loopy. Felino was disoriented and stretched out.
5) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja b Marco Corleone, Rey Cometa, Titán Marco Corleone, Rey Cometa, Titan vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos took 1/3. Titan and Roja feuded, though the finish was Guerrero beating Cometa & Euforia doing the same to Marco. Roja did challenge Titan in the post match interview.
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush b Máscara Dorada, Valiente, Volador Jr. Mascara Dorada, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs La Mascara, La Sombra, Rush, on DailyMotion (posted by thecubsfan)
Rudos DQed in second for Rush unmasking Valiente. Sombra soon did the same with Mascara Dorada. Tecnicos got a little comeback in the third, Valiente toped Mascara Dorada by accident, Mascara distracted Tirantes (by basically taking him down) and Sombra and Rush worked together to foul Volador. Not much of a match.

Really useless show. Felino/Fuego was bad luck, but other matches didn’t deliver. They’re still focusing on getting people to boo Sombra, Rush and La Mascara by having them be mean instead of having good matches. It still may work in the long run, but it didn’t work at all here. Crowd didn’t give them any special reaction.

Seems like they’re still a couple weeks out from Titan/Roja. Felino was really shaken up. He’s listed as working Monday in Puebla but probably should take a night off.

CMLL (SUN) 05/18/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Piraña & Jocker b Dr. Frezzer & Índigo
Rudos took 1/3.
2) El Brillante b Acertijo
3) Javier Cruz Jr. & Leo b Espectrum & Évola
Rudos took 2/3. Leo replaced Exterminador – but Exterminador (in a neck brace) ended up coming in and attacking Evola after Evola fouled Leo.
4) Sky Kid & Smaker b Infierno & Magnum
Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Cavernario b DeltaRey BucaneroGalloPierrothStuka Jr.Guerrero Maya Jr.Boby ZavalaLeón BlancoRáfaga[cibernetico]
Battle royal set teams as Delta, Stuka, Cavernario, Bobby Zavala, Leon Blanco vs Rey Bucanero, Gallo, Pierorth, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rafaga. Elimination order: Delta, Pierroth, Rafaga, Leon Blanco (via Bucanero), Guerrero Maya (Cavernario), Stuka (Gallo), Gallo, Zavala, Bucanero leaving Cavernario the winner.

Nice win for the caveman.

Satanico beat El Dandy on Saturday in Arena San Juan Pantitlan, but then lost to Dandy in their hair match on Sunday.

The Gladiatores has an interview with El Satanico from Saturday.

Io Shirai kept the Stardom Women’s championship over Star Fire at the Lucha Fan Fest. They announced next year’s show will be 05/16; it’s always going to be the weekend after DragonMania so some people can do both and take a vacation in between.

No full results from the DTU shows. Violento Jack defeated Ovett & Ciclope to win the main DTU title in Arena Roberto Paz. Septimo Dragon picked up the Alto Impacto championship from Jinzo in Guanajuato, which is Septimo Dragon’s home town.

The scheduled main event of Friday’s show in Tijuana was Mistico & Volador versus Rey Escorpion & Negro Casas. Mistico’s hurt, but the other three didn’t appear either – just Brazo de Oro to apologize and wrestle instead.

Arkangel has responded to ChilangaMask’s claims of him causing their May show to be canceled. Arkangel was operating as a middleman between CMLL and ChilangaMask, didn’t want to do it to begin with, and definitely didn’t want to do after CMLL luchadors (Skandalo and Rey Cometa) were hurt on the ChilangaMask show and didn’t receive any help from the promotion when they were out of action. Arkangel also believe CMLL pulling 4 luchadoras from a show shouldn’t have been enough to cancel it and feels he shouldn’t be blamed for that. ChilangaMask has been heavily mocking this statement on Twitter.

Mexican senator Diva Hadamira Gestélum Bajo wants the government to investigate lucha libre working conditions. The article says luchadors are classifed as independent contracts but do not have the right to work where ever they want due to company vetoes. She believes the luchadors should be classified by employees. This is word for word the same argument which perennially comes in the United States, where it seems as those wrestlers should be considered employees but nothing ever changes when this is brought up. I’d assume that’s the same inaction will be repeated here (at this point, it’s only a politician asking the government to look at it, not even the government getting involved.) It’s going to be talked about because it’s got picked up everywhere, so maybe one of the companies will respond. The big difference is usually this conversation is started by a disenfranchised wrestler, and there doesn’t seem to be one cited here. The politician herself is from Sinaloa, which is not currently a lucha libre hotbed – the bigger issue there is the lack of facilities to actually run shows, as our friend Mr. Iguana has talked about.

Oriental lost his hair to Black Silver Jr. in Tijuana (where the entire CMLL semimain tag match didn’t show and was replaced by four other CMLL people.)

Rob has highlights of 02/21/14 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

This weekend’s Super Libre features Faraon as a guest.

Segunda Caida is let down by the Arena Coliseo Anniversary show.

CMLL promo for next Friday.

Dr. Wagner Jr. is headed to Guatemala on 06/08. That’s usually a CMLL guest spot.

Hijo del Fantasma is not worried about Fenix.

Lineup

CMLL (SUN) 05/25/2014 Arena Coliseo
1) Bengala & Molotov vs Akuma & Cholo
2) Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Stukita vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Universo 2000
3) Gallo, Súper Halcón Jr., Tritón vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Sangre Azteca, Skándalo
4) Blue Panther, Fuego, Sagrado vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mephisto
5) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Titán vs Niebla Roja, Pierroth, Shocker
6) Volador Jr. vs Rush

First ever Volador vs Rush match. Go for the hair!

Between La Mascara not getting along with his partners, Pierroth being horrible and Titan and Roja feuding, there’s very little hope for the semimain.

Lots of oddities on the undercard. Gallo’s first match in DF since September 2012 (though he has managed to work out in the gym in the meantime.) This is at least the third time Skandalo has been solicited as returning from his eye injury. Bam Bam (and Pequeno Universo) makes his once a month appearance – or doesn’t, guess we’ll see.

CMLL (SUN) 05/25/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Meteoro vs Relampago Azul
2) El Divino & El Ídolo vs El Yaqui & Infierno
3) Explosivo vs Ángel del Mal
4) Exterminador & Javier Cruz Jr. vs Espectrum & Évola
5) Black Metal, Esfinge, Metatrón vs Boby Zavala, Cavernario, Demonio Maya
6) Black Panther, Cachorro, Diamante Azul vs Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Ráfaga

A show. Exterminador continues feuding with his old parnters.  Mugroso Vago seems gone here as soon as he lost his hair.

  1. I’ve certainly learned not to trust luchadors and what they say, but I tend to agree with Arkangel here.

  2. On one side didn’t CMLL guys work the last Chilanga Mask show? If it was injuries that was the problem how come that was okay?

On the other side it does not make sense to cancel a show because 3 women were removed from not important undercard matches.

Seems like there are parts of the story missing from both sides.
