Mistico will be out for four months after his motorcycle accident. CMLL sent out a press release last night explaining the circumstances of his accident reported ten days ago. Mistico was riding his motorcycle to Arena Mexico when he was hit by a white car. His clothes were stuck underneath the car in the accident and the car driver dragged him four meters while trying to escape. Other motorist stopped the driver. The accident took place at 8:20, and Mistico was laying in the street for a half hour before an ambulance picked him up and didn’t get to the hospital until 10. His right tibia and fibula was broken and a rod has been places in his leg from his knee to his ankle. He also broke his right thumb.

Mistico says the doctors originally told him he would be out nine months, but have since lowered it to four months. Fourth months would put Mistico’s return around the anniversary show. Hopefully that’s a coincidence and Mistico takes all the time he needs to recover. He says he’s following all the doctors instructions so he can get back to the ring.

Tonight’s CMLL show has the Guerreros versus Atlantida, which should set up a trios title match next week. The En Busca de un Idolo matches are Dragon Lee vs Super Halcon Jr. and Cavernario vs Guererro Negro Jr., where Dragon Lee & Guerrero Negro both need wins if they’re going to stay within reach of fourth. The undercard also includes Metalico & Oro Jr. trying to get along in the semimain.

The May ChilangaMask is canceled after trouble between the promotion and CMLL (and Arkangel de la Muerte.) There’s a video explaining the situation here.

Dave the Clown, previously seen jumping the rail and hugging Psycho Clown on the last Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera, posted a match supporting Psycho Clown against Texano in their upcoming title match. AAA retweeted Dave, which suggests this is a ongoing storyline and we probably haven’t seen the last of Dave.

Rob has highlights of 02/18/14 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s PosterMania.

Sexy Star says she’ll be in Jhonny Gonzalez’s corner in his next boxing match on 05/24 in Acapulco, as payback for Gonzalez helping train her and Pentagon Jr. for their mixed tag title match. Not sure if Pentagon Jr. is also going, but neither are listed on the TV taping the night prior.

A travel blog visits Arena Mexico. I feel like I’ve read fifty of these sort of articles, and Maximo is always the start of the show to people watching lucha libre for the first time.

Dr. Cerebro and other luchadors visited children in the hospital.

This Sunday’s GALLI show has GPA versus Bryce Benjamin and Acid Jazz vs Marshe Rockett, which sounds like a really good match.

Atlantis & Pirata Morgan Jr. is listed as happening in Cicero, Illinois on 05/25.

Sabor del Ring continues a series of an biographies of local SLP legends with Gavilan Sr. There’s also a bio of current luchador Maligno.
