CMLL (SUN) 12/22/2013 Arena Mexico [@therealfredo, CMLL]
1) Metálico & Sensei b Artillero & Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 2/3 in an average match.
2) Amapola, Goya Kong, La Seductora, Lady Afrodita, Tiffany b Dallys la Caribeña, Estrellita, Princesa Sugheit, Silueta, Zeuxis [seeding battle royal]
Seeding battle royal was needed due to the unbalanced sides (six rudas, four tecnicas.) Afrodita’s first match here in six months. Goya pressed out Zeuxis last and she landed hard on her backside.
3) Princesa Sugheit b EstrellitaGoya KongSiluetaLady AfroditaAmapolaTiffanyDallys la CaribeñaLa SeductoraZeuxis [#1 Contenders, CMLL WOMEN, cibernetico]
Order of elimination went Afrodita (by Silueta), Zeuxis (by Seductora), Silueta (by Tiffany), Seductora (by Dallys), Tiffany (by Estrellita), Dallys (by Amapola), Estrellita (by Goya), Ampola (by Sugehit) leaving Princesa Sugehit as the surprise. Amapola tripped up Goya to help eliminate her, and Goya distracted Amapola. Sugehit faces Marcela next week.
4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado b Puma, Shigeo Okumura, Tiger
Tecnicos took 1/3 in a good match.
5) Atlantis, La Máscara, Titán b Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys
Tecnicos took 2/3.
6) Negro Casas b Volador Jr.
Negro Casas ambushed Volador and used Volador’s own hoodie against him to take the first, Volador took the second, and Negro won a long good third fall with another one of his tricks – he ‘accidentally’ rolled up the referee to distract him, then fouled Volador and pinned him. (This was along the lines of his win over Guerrero Maya Jr.) Negro had guaranteed a win prior to the match and told Volador he can’t be Negro Casas. Volador wanted a rematch and clean result.

Sugehit is totally unexpected. Marcela has the recent feud with Dallys (who was back to her tecnica gear here) and pre-match promos teased Amapola or Estrellita. Even when it came down to the last three, it seemed much more likely Amapola or Goya would get the title shot. Marcela vs Sugehit has a chance to be really good and possibly Sugehit’s best match ever in CMLL. (And everyone seems to be spelling it Sugehit now, of which I’m late to catch on.)

Negro Casas beating Volador is truly strange if Volador is the new tecnico sensation – but we’ve found out that Titan is that and he’s definitely better than Volador so I’m not bothered. Also, Negro is great and this might not be over.

CMLL (SUN) 12/22/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Tapatío b Índigo
Tapatio won quick. Indigo was hurt and needed medical assistance.
2) El Divino b Relampago Azul
All opening card matches singles appear to be one fall now. Divino won this one. Relampago Azul replaced Jocker.
3) Demonio Maya & Demonio Rojo b Esfinge & Javier Cruz Jr.
Xavier Cruz Jr. replaced Halcon de Plata. Rudos took 1/3.
4) Gallo b Exterminador
Also one fall. Gallo won with a cristo.
5) Black Metal, Pegasso, Solar I b Espectrum, Évola, Maléfico
Evola replaced Herodes Jr. Solar led his team to the win, taking falls 1/3. He and Malefico went back and forth in all three.
6) Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Pierroth b Máscara Dorada, Shocker, Valiente
Rudos took 1/3, Aguila using the ropes to beat Dorada. This sets up a singles match next week.

(This is the second update today. Scroll down to see the last one.)

This week’s bonus TerceraCaida, including a trip to Tijuana, is up.

El Dandy, on Facebook announced a retirement tour in 2014, starting in 01/17 in Tijuana and 02/16 in Veracruz, and ending who knows when. I see it less as a retirement tour (because that never works) and more as El Dandy’s actually back for more matches (which seemed uncertain before the announcement.)

Cibernetico is good at Twitter.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/22 Dragon Gate: Jimmy Susumu, Ryo “Jimmy” Saito, Mr. Quu Quu Tanizaki Naoki Toyonaka Dolphin beat CIMA, Masaaki Mochizuki, Dragon Kid and T-Hawk, Eita, Flamita [Open the Triangle Gate]
I usually try to type these names myself, so all the spelling mistakes are mine, but there’s no way with that result. Anyway, Flamita loses the Dragon Gate trios championship right before he comes home, as expected. (There’s one more show on the 27th but I thought they’d be leaving before then.) Matches from this iPPV are up on DailyMotion.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 12/29/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Robin vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado vs Boby Zavala, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
3) Marcela vs Princesa Sugheit [CMLL WOMEN]
Marcela is champion. 10th defense.
4) Máximo, Super Porky, Valiente vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Pierroth
5) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs La Máscara, Shocker, Volador Jr.

Main event keeps Volador and Negro together, though there’s no guarantee they’ll do anything. I think we’re getting more matches like the second of late due to the holiday season, so I wish it was Christmas all year.

***S6is (Sixth Anniversary Show)***
1) Macizito, Robin (Porros), Super Boy b Lunatick Boy, Lunatick Extreme, Rudock
DTU Kids match, featuring kids from the Porros school. 10 minute time limit
2) Kalibuz b Jhonky and Cruz del Silencio and Crazy King and Gremlin and Chica Ye-Ye and Benji and Energy
3) Christine, JC Mclean, Keira, La Magnifica, Zuzu Divine b Diosa Atenea, Mystique, Princesa Ahy Leen, Reina Dorada, Star Fire [Copa Femenil de Super Luchas]
DTU vs WWS. Christine (a masked Canadian who probably has a different character name but it was lost along the way) was the mystery woman on the DTU side. Keira was the ultimate winner.
4) Jinzo b HackerPoisonBlack FireSeptimo DragonHormiga [DTU AI]
vacant title after Tomahawk was unable to return to defend. Slayer Pack was announced but did not appear, making this another six way. Jinzo appears to have beaten Hacker.
5) Lanzeloth, Lethal, Pesadilla b Artikus, Crazy Boy, Super Crazy
Format was never clear going into the show but turned out to be a trios. Upset win.
6) Ángel o Demonio b Joe LiderDance BoyShyru Dragon [DTU CONSAGRADO]
Joe Lider is champ, but Angel o Demonio won the championship.
7) Aero Boy b Violento Jack
Tag team partners fighting each other in celebration of 10 years being a team. All sorts of extreme spots end with an Aero Boy MMA armbar.
8) Kaleth b Ángel del MisterioRey CelestialPequeno CobraDrastik BoySlayer Pack [mask]
Slayer Pack replaced Gemelo Muerte. No extreme spots. Order of escape: Slayer Pack, Drastik Boy, Angel del Misterio, Rey Celestial leaving Kaleth as the loser. Kaleth is Carlos Alberto Briseño López, 27, 6 years a wrestler.
9) Cíclope L ParanoikoOnita SantanaOvettMiedo ExtremoDemente Extreme [hair]
All extreme spots. Order of escape: Miedo Etremo, Dement Extreme, Paranoiko, Ovett. That left young Ciclope versus vet Onita Santana (replacement for X-Fly, who lost his hair earlier in the week.) It looked like Ciclope was going to win, but Angel o Demonio & Ovett attacked him and Santana hit Ciclope with a brick for the win. Ciclope loses an apuesta match on a DTU anniversary show.

Turn out seems good. Poor Ciclope, much like a children’s cartoon villain, can never win. Looked like the show was being taped so it should turn up on dtuTV in the future.

Black Terry Jr. has over 300 pictures from the show. DTU makes for interesting photos.

The night before, Violento Jack & Aeroboy won the main event at the ex-DTU Arena.

Mesias evidently won a Trident championship belt by winning the sponsored show main event on Friday.

TerceraCaida is back tonight at 6pm with a special on the Evolucion Lucha Libre (Tijuana show.) Puebla is listed at 9pm and should have the Blue Panther/Averno rematch (and I may have trouble recording it so someone else might want to take a try.) LAS is listed IWRG at 10:30pm CT after earlier having it at 11, and has also brought back the blitzkrieg of reruns for next week. I know AYM aired Thursday’s show (with the three way tag apuesta match) on Saturday and I’m unsure if tonight will have Sunday for both channels or something different.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

CMLL luchadors are all over the Arena Olimpico Laguna Christmas Day card.

DJ Spectro has the third part of his Ultraman bio.

Porra Fresa previews Monday’s card.

CMLL video promo for next Friday’s show.

Ricky Marvin is headed back to NOAH from 01/15 to 25. XL, who’s wrestled in Mexico a few times, is on the tour as a trainee.

Tomorrow (12/23) is the last day of the current NJPW tour. NJPW seems to make it’s upcoming lineup announcements the day their tours end. It’s very possible the FantasticaMania 2014 lineups turn up early on Christmas Eve.
