CMLL (MON) 12/16/2013 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio, El Popular]
1) Espanto Jr. & Inquisidor b Águila Egipcia & Tigre Rojo Jr.
Inquisidor beat Tigre Rojo.
2) Hooligan & Siki Ozama Jr. b Milenium & Starman
Osama beat Starman.
3) Camorra b Stigma [lightning]
Camorra jumped Stigma on the way to the ring. Camorra snuck in a foul on Stigma after a ref bump. Challenges followed.
4) Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura b Fuego, Stuka Jr., Tritón
Okumura beat Stuka.
5) Rush, Shocker, Volador Jr. b Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
Rush replaced Diamante Azul, which probably should’ve caused some problems with Shocker but none are noted. Volador beat Aguila.
6) Último Guerrero DQ Atlantis
Reports vary on result.
Not sure on a lot. The El Popular recap lists “Bush” in the semimain and has Atlantis winning, while Cinco has Ultimo Guerrero winning. Stigma/Camorra definitely seems as though it’s resolving in a mask match here, but CMLL’s walked up to apuesta matches this year and hasn’t done many of them.
CMLL Gaceta previews tonight’s show with the Rey Escorpion/Maximo title match and Rey Bucanero’s return to Arena Mexico after four months. I’m fairly certain Bucanero back on Sunday and was only gone for two months but facts whatever.
Title match could go either way. Escorpion winning clean would greatly reduce the chances of a hair match. Maximo’s never been a singles champion; exoticos are rarely allowed singles championships in general. Maximo always sets up in big matches and this should be no different.
Bill returns to creating videos with 09/29/13 TxT.
LuchaWorld has this week’s PosterMania.
Los Oficials beat Los Bastardos in Arena Lopez Mateos, as IWRG and AULL continue to feud in that building.
Yuriko has been removed from the AAA roster page, as expected.
Comando Elite beat the Oficials and Freelance, with El Signo somehow being involved in the post match.
Eric R @ Segunda Caida recaps 12/01/13 Uprising Lucha Libre.
Aero Boy will debut in CZW on 01/11 against Danny Havoc.
La Comandante leaves tomorrow for Japan. She’s expecting to have 10 matches and to return on 02/14 but may stay longer and hopes to have more fights.
AAA posted the full videochat with Taya & Daga.
Baby Star and Pantera Asesina have moved from Ciudad Juarez to Distrito Federal to improve their lucha libre career.
For what it’s worth, and it may not be worth anything, Terra’s preview for Friday says they’ll air the Leyenda de Plata. Terra’s aired the top 4 matches from Friday since the Anniversary show, but those have always been six match cards. Friday is a five match card, and it’s possible the restriction is actually “the top two matches won’t be aired”, which would make for a short show.
Lineups
CMLL (SUN) 12/22/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Sensei vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Estrellita vs Goya Kong, Silueta, Lady Afrodita, Amapola, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany, Dallys la Caribeña, La Seductora, Zeuxis [#1 Contenders, CMLL WOMEN, cibernetico]
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado vs Puma, Shigeo Okumura, Tiger
4) Atlantis, La Máscara, Titán vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys
5) Volador Jr. vs Negro Casas
Main event is non-title after all. Rooting for Casas.
Tercera would be so good if the other Japanese guy stayed.
I failed at counting last night, there’s 10 people in that match. Lady Afrodita, who hasn’t had a match here since June, is in line to get a title shot. Dark Angel, who is very good, is not. (Maybe Sarah Stock is headed home for the holidays?) Anyway, while Amapola versus Marcela is almost always the best match, I’m rooting for Zeuxis just because I’d like to see what crazy things she’d try if the world title was on the line.
IWRG (SUN) 12/22/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alfa, Omega, Seiya vs ?, ??, ???
names cut off, but at least one of the Fuglors are involved
2) Diva Salvaje & Miss Gaviota vs Douki & Imposible
3) Black Terry, Bombero Infernal, Dr. Cerebro vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo
4) Centvrión, Golden Magic, Veneno vs Puma (CMLL), Tiger, X-Fly
5) Máscara Púrpura, Negro Navarro, Volador Jr. vs Negro Casas, Oficial 911, Súper Nova
This was listed in Box Y Lucha as an IWRG card – not another promoter coming in and happening to use CMLL wrestlers. IWRG hasn’t posted this lineup or said anything. Friday is six years to day where IWRG brought in Hijo del Santo and CMLL decided to stop working with them. (Tiger and Puma were on that show too.)
Tercera has the Mexico State trios champ in a non-title match.
