Aguayo tecnico? , CMLL subject to change, bodybuilding, gas station luchadors

CMLL published new lineups yesterday. Those are at the bottom of this post. There’s something new on the bottom of the CMLL.com lineup pages, though

“Programación Sujeta a Cambios de Última Hora”

That message warning of card subject to change has been on CMLL posters in the past, but hasn’t been on lately. (Looking at the anniversary program I was supposed to send to someone month ago and will get to soon – promise! – it wasn’t on for that show.) This is probably related to the main event changes of recent weeks – the tag title deal and the Namajague sub for Negro Casas – but it’s always surprising to see CMLL react to negative feedback.

Demus may be unable to wrestle, but he’s still been working to get in shape for the bodybuilding contest. This is the week where I remember CMLL is a bodybuilding company which runs lucha libre shows to fill the time. Participants, like Esfinge the other day and Demus and Akuma in that article, talk about how they’ve spent so many extra hours over so many months preparing to become the best bodybuilder for this contest, which is a ‘fun’ challenge the luchadors do among themselves for no reward outside of a plastic trophy and. (That story is more implausible than the AAA Alliens.) Demus is definitely working at getting back in the ring too, but there are no CMLL penned articles written about the extra work he or anyone else is putting it to be the best luchador – either because they’re not doing it or CMLL doesn’t find that worth pointing out. (This is the first time Demus’ been mentioned since his surgery.) Anyway, Demus manages to work in a wrestling hook: he’s lost so much weight between the bodybuilding and rehab that he’s a lightweight and demands to fight Electrico for his title when he returns. Akuma recaps his past performances in the bodybuilding contest, as they are the most interesting things to happen in his career.

Perro Aguayo Jr. talks about entering a new stage in his career, but also says he’s only teaming with Cibernetico to get revenge on La Secta. There was a vignette with him and Konnan on TV (though it wasn’t on the UTDN show on the YouTube channel) where Perro says the same things, then basically worked as a tecnico in the match. He’s kind of been working as a tecnico for quite a while, but hopefully AAA’s is emphasizing his mixed status because his actual tecnico turn is still ahead (Guerra de Titanes? Aguascalientes?)

Apolo Dantes promoted the upcoming debut of Mobil and Delvac, who appear to be gas station sponsored luchadors. They wrestle on a special free (sponsored by Mobil, no doubt) show on 11/30, but you can get tickets for free if you go Arena Coliseo Guadalajara next Sunday or Tuesday.

TxT apparently have a four show tour thru Campeche next week. That’s really good business for them. Santo and Demon are in Arena Juba this weekend.

Miguel Fonseca turns a luchawiki correction into a column for AAA’s website: Cuervo actually beat the real Kung Fu in a hair match, not a fake. Thanks! Also neat to see a new blog entry on AAA’s website for the first time in months. I’ve been finding a lot of stuff to add or correct on the wiki based on stuff I found in Mexico City, and it’s great knowing every change I make causes the Luchawiki to be a little better. It’s even easier when other people do the work for me. Thanks, Miguel!

Rob has highlights of 09/05/13 AAA.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Pimpinela thinks well of Black Mamba, will give him a great fight in Queretaro.

Eric R watches the latest (?) Uprising Lucha Libre.

Pagano and Aereo will destroy each other in a ladder match at this weekend’s AAA return to Ciudad Juarez.

That’s the best looking match on Tuesday on some time. Tuesday has weirdly has had some of the best CMLL matches of the year amongst mixed in with nearly total forgettable stuff. This could be outstanding too.

4) Ángel de Oro, Sagrado, Shocker vs Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Pólvora
5) La Sombra vs Último Guerrero

Between Ultimo and Sombra, you could have one heck of a drinking game main event. Pick a designated driver first.

2) Alex Guajardo & Eragón vs Galaxy & Sangre De Dragon
3) Dragon De Oriente I & Dragon De Oriente II vs Drabek I & Drabek II

Maestros return in Queretaro. Averno and Panther were partners back in Arena Coliseo where this started, but might not work so well as a team this time .
