CMLL (SUN) 11/03/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Metálico & Sensei b Akuma & Herodes Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Sagrado, Starman, Stigma b Camorra, Hooligan, Nitro
Tecnicos took 2/3. Camorra & Stigma feuded, but weren’t involved in the finish.
3) Stuka Jr., Super Porky, Tritón b Felino, Olímpico, Pierroth
Straight falls, Pierroth failing to slam Porky and deciding to foul him instead.
4) Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr. b Namajague & Shigeo Okumura [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Okumura & Namajague are champions, second defense. Rudos took the first with a Michinoku Driver and a german suplex. Tecnicos rallied back to win a quick second fall, then Maya dropped Okumura with the Sacrifica Maya and Delta submitted Namajague with his campana variation to win the title.
5) Tama Tonga, Terrible, Volador Jr. b La Máscara, Máximo, Shocker
6) Mephisto DRAW Titán [MEX LH]
Mephisto is champion, second defense. Mephisto took the first fall and Titan reversed a Devil’s Wings to a huracanrana in the second. The third fall was midway what seemed liked a long third fall when Mephisto pulled out a reverse springboard tope con giro to the floor on Titan and hit the ground hard. Mephisto wrestled for a couple more minutes before Volador (Mephisto’s second) pulled the champion outside. The doctor checked on Mephisto and seemed to tell him he should not continue. Mephisto came back in, Titan immediately rolled him up in his back bridging folded arms cradle, and Mephisto hit Titan on the sides to cause Titan’s shoulders to touch the mat too. Referee counted three for both men, ruling it a double pinfall and a draw.

Stream had issues early. It didn’t get running until last in the first match and was doing weird things in the second. The aspect ratio seemed off all night, and the HD feed wasn’t available.

Crowd was surprisingly strong into the tag match. It got good in the third fall, but the crowd was excited for it before it really got there.  The lead up and the previous matches were about the Fiebre Amarilla team cheating to win, but there were no teases of that in this match.

There were a spot late where both Delta and Maya did topes thru the corners. As he was getting up, Namajague had some incident with a couple of fans (a mom and her son maybe) after he got up – you could briefly see security getting involved as he walked away. The report I was told was Namajague hit the fan, though I don’t have that confirmed and don’t know if there was anything that lead up to it. Namajague ended up on the floor again later, right in front of the fans, and that time a fan gave him a thumbs up and he nodded his head; it’s not like he was in a mood to randomly hit people.

Crowd was tired by the time it came to Mephisto and Titan. They seemed to be building to a big end game and didn’t get there because of the injury. It felt like the double pin was just the easiest way out of the match and maybe not the intended finish; maybe they’ll come back with it again soon.

CMLL (SUN) 11/03/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Brillante & Meteoro b El Piraña & Relampago Azul
2) Acertijo & Demonio Rojo b El Divino & El Ídolo
Demonio Rojo took falls 1/3.
3) Metatrón, Sky Kid, Virgo b Demonio Maya, Infierno, Magnum
Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Gallo, León Blanco, Smaker DQ Exterminador, Maléfico, Ráfaga
Tecnicos took 1/3, the last by DQ when Rafaga fouled Smaker.
5) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja b La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Mistico
Rudos took 1/3, Euforia sneaking in a foul on Sombra to continue their feud. Birthday boy Sombra (24) wanted a mask vs mask match between them, but Euforia would only agree to a singles match next week.

They set up the singles match last week too and ended up with the trios. Maybe it’ll happen next week.

Full recaps of AAA and IWRG tomorrow with any luck.

In AAA, AJ Styles kept his TNA title over Mesias as expected. The match was interrupted by big new star Fantasma and world champion Texano working as goons for Konnan to mess up the match (unsure why they were goons or why Konnan wanted to stop that match; maybe they wanted to be in the match?) Styles & Mesias fought them off and concluded their match. Ludxor and Venum debuted with amazing new outfits and a win, which does put them up one win on the CMLL Cadetes del Espacio.

The undercard had build to a Faby vs Jennifer vs Mary vs Taya hair match (billed as a tag match, but they’re only promising on hair lost) and Psycho Circus vs La Secta trios title match. They also announced to the live crowd that Guerra de Titanes will be 12/08 in Tepic. Again, that makes it very hard for the Secta to get back from AJPW in time for the matches which are being set up, but I’m starting to believe Ozz & Cuervo aren’t actually going to Japan for this tournament. AAA still has said nothing about it and has acted like they’re going to be around next month.

Over in IWRG, Alan Xtreme lost his mask to Golden Magic in Castillo del Terror. Bombero Infernal lost his hair to Tony Rivera in their hair match. No details yet on either; wonder if maybe Team Neza decided to take out both of Black Terry’s friends on the same show.

This came up in the comments already, but not in the main post: Azteca America has a lucha libre show starting next Saturday at 2pm CT. It appears to be a CMLL show. No idea what matches will air or any other detail; I was waiting until the Lucha Times to talk about in hope of finding out a little more, because there’s not much besides that. The show that would make the most sense is the Fox Sports show and the footage they’ve used in the commercial is from that ringside camera recap they use on that show.

AAA announced they’d be taping on 11/22 in Aguascalientes. That should cover at least the 11/30 TV and maybe the 12/07 show (last before Guerra de Titanes, last regular TV show of the year.) Whatever AAA’s doing for GdT should be obvious on that card.

Rob has highlights of 08/30/13 AAA and 08/30/13 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and Alfredo’s recap of Heroes Inmortales part 1

Photos from the 10/30 Lucha Va Voom show.

Rey Terror lost his mask to Yuma.

Lucha Libre in Chile

Arkangel is back from Chile, says he plans on defending his newly won FULL Maximo Championship many times in Mexico before return.

Lucha Libre in Japan

11/02 REINA: everyone lost. Chik Tormenta lost to Dump Mastumoto in revenge from her debut match, and Zeuxis & Vaquerita lost the tag team titles to Aki Shizuku & Alia. As you might have guessed, this is the trio’s last show in Japan before heading back to Mexico.

11/03 Dragon Gate: CIMA, Masaaki Mochizuki, CIBA [W], TSUBASA beat U-T [L], Yosuke  Santa Maria, Flamita, Rocky Lobo – this aired on iPPV, which you can still check out here. Flamita & Rocky Lobo didn’t win, but it sounds like they’re generally impressing. A previous trios match with them is up on DailyMotion.

Solar will face Tiger Mask I on 1/13/2014 in Japan.

Lineup

CMLL (SUN) 11/10/2013 Arena Coliseo
1) Aéreo & Stukita vs Pequeño Universo 2000 & Pequeño Violencia
2) Magnus, Metatrón, Starman vs Camorra, Cancerbero, Raziel
3) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Namajague, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
4) Delta vs Misterioso Jr. [lightning]
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Super Porky vs Niebla Roja, Pierroth, Tama Tonga
6) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Gran Guerrero, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero

Valiente returns from Japan. That suggests he was right about the day he was leaving Japan and is not hanging around for their 11/09 PPV (which in turns suggests what’s going to happen in the tag team tournament.)

They appear to be teasing a Super Porky/Pierroth match, so don’t send in your Worst Match of the Year votes quite yet.

Namajague is not gone yet, but he’s got to face three people who annoy him instead. That’s almost an Anniversary opener rematch, except Sangre Azteca instead of Ishii.

Magnus returns! No Stigma but Camorra keeps his segunda spot.

  1. He did hit the fan for no reason. He was brawling in the crowd; the guy was behind him. Namajague just turned on the guy’s side and punched him. I guess the kid said something but damn this was a legit punch. Guy’s mom started crying and his face was all red.

  2. LOL @ CMLL on Azteca America. Another national clearance for CMLL, while AAA is always working on the elusive deals that never happen or quickly evaporate. They’ll never learn.

  3. Oh, bigger LOL @ WON describing Azteca America as a small network. That caused me to laugh.

Can you all imagine if AAA/Konnan got that deal? It would be described as a “Major Spanish-language network on DIsh, Direct, Fios, and affiliates in all major markets, including powerhouse KAZA-54 in LA”.

Yes, Azteca America does not get strong ratings, but it’s not small in world of Spanish tv in the US.
