NGX, Mephisto keeps title, Heroes Inmortales, tag tournament final, CMLL card changes,

NGX (SAT) 10/05/2013 Gym Factores Muturos, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon [LuchaMania Monterrey]
***Sangre y Venganza 2013***
1) Psicotico b Aguila Xtrema
Aguila Extrema’s mask came off by accident on the finish. Referee ignored it and counted three.
2) Epydemius b Shenky, Kratoz
Shenky was nervous. Un-Mexicans gave Epydemius a t-shirt to join their group.
4) Ludark Shaitan b Tsunami
moved to the semifinal. Tsunami replaced Lily Fighter. Some Sadica fans in the crowd chanted for her instead of the two people. Not as crazy as thought, but Tsunami gets credit for doing this one day after a crazy match with Sadica.
4) Neurosis & Optymuz b Aereo (Juarez) & Erick Snake
Aereo from Juarez replaced Dralion. Crowd was behind Optymuz & Neurosis. Erick Snake is one of the Un-Mexicans and was helped by the returning El Pelon (now using the name Dash) interfering. They tied Neurosis to the ropes pretty early and focused on Optymuz. Aereo had a spectacular dive. Optymuz made the comeback, untied Neurosis, and Aereo took out Neurosis but also Dash with a dive. Optymuz defeated Erick Snake to win.
5) Pagano, Sick Boy, Skam 13 b Hooligan Byron, Kaientai, Xtreme Dragon
The ring was supposed to have many lamps, but they could not get lamps. They went on with the match anyway and they used whatever they could find. Pagano beat Kaientai with a Air Raid Crash to give the UnMexicans a loss at the end of the show.

There’s a clip of Aereo’s dive, which was pretty cool.

CMLL (MON) 10/07/2013 Arena Puebla [@cincoradio, Comunicate Digital, El Popular (cover)]
1) Meyer, Milenium, Robin b Ares, Guerrero Espacial, King Jaguar
Guerrero Espacial’s debut. Robin beat King Jaguar.
2) Pegasso, Starman, Tigre Rojo Jr. b Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Nitro
Pegasso beat Arkangel.
3) Sagrado, Stigma, Stuka Jr. b Felino, Puma, Tiger
Rematch of last week, with Sagrado beating Tiger this time.
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión b Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente
Recap notes crowd was chanting Mistico Pirata again. Rudos took 1/3, Dragon Rojo & Polvora beating Valiente & Mascara Dorada for the win. Revolucionarios asked for a title match. The Estetas said they had to get more wins but did offer masks vs masks/hair. Rudos passed.
5) Mephisto b La Máscara [MEX LH]
Seconds were Robin and Rey Escorpion. Mephisto took falls 1/3, escaping the campana and beating Mascara with a super Devil’s Wings. Mephisto’s first defense.

Tercera back and forth doesn’t appear to be going anyway, but they’ve obviously setting up the trios title.

Today’s Arena Mexico show has the most unpredictable big tag team match in CMLL in, uh, four weeks. Rush & La Mascara take on La Sombra & Atlantis where the winner will get a tag team title shot against Rey Bucanero & Tama Tonga. CMLL Gaceta notes the main event is four tecnicos, but really three tecnicos and one guy everyone hates. If you ever wanted an excuse to boo La Mascara, today is your day. I’m don’t have any strong feeling n who will win, or if they’ll win the tag team titles whenever their title shot happens, but this should be a pretty good and unique match. Undercard includes Virus and Guerrero Maya facing off again as part of a trios match.

CMLL did a lot of card shuffling last night, affecting mostly Friday and Sunday’s cards. Dragon Rojo is off both shows. Ephesto will replace him, and Misterioso is added to Friday’s card in Ephesto’s old spot. Both lightning matches have been altered. Titan will replace Mascara Dorada and now be in the lightning match for a third straight week, facing old rival Averno. Vangellys subs in for Sangre Azteca on Sunday to face Triton. Meanwhile, in one not listed on the website, Apolo Dantes has Brazo de Plata subbing for Shocker today in Guadalajara.

No reason is given for any of these changes. Dragon Rojo’s had obvious fitness issues for a while, but he’s had them for a while and there didn’t appear to be a breaking point. Pulling Dorada out of the lightning match derails the Avernos/Estetas feud CMLL’s been setting up on Fridays. Dorada doesn’t appear to be hurt, since he’s still wrestling today in Guadalajara. I think it’s likely Dragon Rojo & Mascara Dorada are working together some place else, maybe a foreign trip. Sangre Azteca has suggested elsewhere he’s doing his usual France trip soon, so maybe that’s happening as soon as Sunday. Shocker’s now missed three shows in a row and it’s probably one of the usual array of issues with him.

AAA also posted the Heroes Inmortales poster, which is the same one which was released back when TicketMaster put the tickets on sale with the exception of Scoria and Spiritu in for Pentagon Jr. & Ultimo Gladiador after the events in San Luis Potosi. Still not sure how that’s going to work for Scoria – just today, AAA put out an interview with Cibernetico saying Scoria is out injured (with the idea he’d like to do that the rest of the Secta.) It may simply work like in SLP where Scoria just is taken out early again.

Fenix talked about his trip to NOAH. He says fighting KENTA with the crowd chanting “FENIX” is one of his best memories of wrestling ever. Fenix says they nicknamed him Hombre de Acero after KENTA kicked him hard (in the head?) four times in his second match and Fenix kept on going. Fenix also explains he had no idea about the public workout – the promotion just told him to bring his gear and mask for something and he assumed the people in charge wanted to see what he had, but was surprised to find out they liked him already and just wanted to show him off to the press.

Psycho Circus, La Parka, Octagon, Taya, Jennifer Blake and Axel all helped out the Red Cross with collecting and loading hurricane relief supplies on Sunday. Judging from the photos on Twitter, they were there all day.

RCH is back in Arena Naucalpan on 10/17 with Perro Aguayo Jr.

The latest Perros del Mal catalog update. It only occurs to me now that we didn’t see that store because they’re not near Arena Mexico any more (and haven’t been for a few years.)

A poster on Box Y Lucha has taken the mural mask photos and figured out almost all of the names. He’s looking for help on the last few. I may go back and make up new images with the names added on.

Rob has highlights of 08/13/13 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

DTU has a poster with a talent list for their 10/14 show in Arena Cuatro Caminos. No matches, but Daga & Fenix make rare DTU appearances.

Ohtani’s Jacket writes about Americo Rocca vs El Talisman.

For what it’s worth, the Terra preview for Friday’s show does not include the disclaimer about only the first four matches airing. It’s probably not worth much.

Vengador Radiactivo and Neurona Killer will meet in a mask match this Sunday after being set up in a ruleta de la muerte the previous week. (They didn’t do the mask match on the same show, a different concept.) Vengador Radiactivo is the favorite.

Stukita, Flyer, Apolo Estrada, Chico Che and Dinamic Black are today’s Arena Aficion lineup. Speaking of Dinamic Black, I was told today that I got the story about why Dinamic Black is out of IWRG wrong, but he’s definitely gone.

Custom Abismo Negro action figure.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 10/13/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & Metalik vs El Piraña & Samael
2) El Divino & Halcón de Plata vs Ángel del Mal & Demonio Rojo
3) Black Metal, Leo, Smaker vs Demonio Maya, Espectrum, Magnum
4) Fuego, Gallo, Rey Cometa vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Exterminador, Maléfico
5) Rey Bucanero & Tama Tonga vs Máximo & Rush

Angel del Mal’s not been here since January 2012. Bucanero & Tama have a warm up tag match for their tag title defense, maybe against one of the challengers.

CMLL (MON) 10/14/2013 Arena Puebla
1) Fuerza Chicana & Toro Bill Jr. vs Guerrero Espacial & King Jaguar
2) Leono, Milenium, Starman vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Espíritu Maligno, Nitro
3) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Sagrado vs Boby Zavala, Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura
4) Ángel de Oro, Máximo, Rush vs Kráneo, Tama Tonga, Vangellys
5) Mistico, Titán, Valiente vs Mr. Niebla, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión

This is the “big” card in Arena Puebla prior to Heroes Inmortales. It’s possible they’ll have the trios title match to advertise after it. Guerrero Espacial gets two appearances in a row against a fellow rudo team.
