Gym IWRG vs Gym Skayde. Kiwby replaced Sky Angel. Fulgor beat Turbo for the IWRG win.
6) Dragón Celestial b Ciclón Black [mask]
Naucalpan vs Neza. Ciclon Black toped Dragon Celestial to start the match, but fell to a “power boom”. Ciclon’s second Tony Rivera helped him win the second fall. Tony kept interfering in the third fall, but Black Terry brawled with him to the back, and Dragon beat Ciclon to take his mask. Ciclon Black is Fabián Franco Ojeda, 5 years a professional.

Not a lot about the match itself. I feel like Fulgor I beating Turbo is like a personal victory over Rob.

10) Atlantis & La Sombra b Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero [CMLL TAG, semifinal]
11) Euforia, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla b Ángel de Oro, Shocker, Thunder
Shocker had Mephisto just about beat, but Euforia powerbombed Thunder and beat him first.

The previous tag team champions were a combination of an old masked legend and the best guy in the promotion, and that’s pretty much what Atlantis & Sombra are as well. (Plus Sombra and Tonga have somewhat unresolved issues.) I’m pretty sure this tournament was listed as a one night deal to determine #1 contenders, but it’s been turned into a 16 team tournament. The winners of this block are probably still getting the title shot.

I think I now hate tournaments more for having to cut them all into individual matches for video sharing purposes than the matches not being any good. But it’s close.

CMLL (TUE) 09/24/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Camaleón & Sensei b Demonio Maya & Sádico
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Black Metal, Gallo, Leo b Arkángel de la Muerte, Canelo Casas, Hooligan
Rudos took 2/3, the last when Arkangel snuck in a foul on Gallo and Hooligan picked up the win. Hooligan wins!
3) Estrellita b Amapola [MEX WOMEN]
Dropped down to the third. Estrellita’s third defense.
4) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Titán b Pierroth, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
Tencicos took 2/3, Panther beating Pierroth and Titan defeated Polvora.
5) Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas DQ La Máscara, Máximo, Rush
Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Negro fouled Rush and didn’t get away with it.

DTU TV launched this week. It’s not in the video download bit because it’s much nicer on the YouTube channel. Matches from the first show include Flamita vs Rich Swann.

De Lucha Libre has interviews with various trainees in Konkreto Gym. Click the links on the side for more, like a luchadora who’s the cousin of India Sioux. There’s a lot of good info on that site.

Rey Misterio Jr. says he plans on wrestling for three or four more years.

AAA continues it’s interview with Drago, Argenis and Super Fly. (Part 3 here.)

Aerostar’s Aero Boom.

Rey Cometa and Kaoma Jr. meet in a super libre match next Sunday.

Laredo Kid will main event a show this Sunday to benefit the hurricane/tropical storm victims.

The Gladiatores has interviews with Konnan and Drago. The Konnan one is a bit hard to hear due to the show noise.

Lucha Libre in Japan

09/25 NJPW: Prince Devitt, Ken Anderson, Tama Tonga, Rey Bucanero, Bad Luck Fale [X] b Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabre, Jushin Liger, Captain New Japan [O] & Mascara Dorada
This is an irrelevant match, but that’s kind of the point – Mascara Dorada flew over to Japan to essentially work two minutes of 8/10 man tags for a week. Maybe he does a dive too. He’s not even getting pinned. This could be easier explained as “(well) paid vacation.”

CMLL (TUE) 10/01/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Molotov & Sensei vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
2) Diamante, Pegasso, Starman vs Cancerbero, Nosferatu, Raziel

4) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, La Sombra vs Euforia, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.

Averno & Mephisto seem the favorite based on being rudos who match up with Atlantis & Sombra. Rojo & Escorpion might stand a chance. Hope Dorada & Titan get a run to the semifinal, but the odds are not in their favor.

CMLL (TUE) 10/01/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Black Metal & Esfinge vs Demonio Maya & Sádico
2) Astral & Eléctrico vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia

5) Marco Corleone, Mistico, Valiente vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys

Main event is TRT vs 2/3rds of the Estetas. Tercera should be fun.
