Solar great backbreaker

Atlantis, Blue Panther, Negro Casas vs Black Terry, Negro Navarro, Solar I: A very good title match that probably could’ve been great had they had more time; it felt like there were possible good matchups that we didn’t get to see all that much. Navarro and Casas spent the periods between falls building something up that didn’t really take place for any length in the third. It was still plenty good enough for the occasion and a nice change of pace. Atlantis pulled out a few tricks usually unseen from him, which gives me some hope those bits might come on 09/13. Black Terry’s injury was so incidental that I might have not picked it up if not for seeing his black eye later.

not the usual torito

La Sombra vs Volador Jr. in a super libre match: GREAT. CMLL struggles with the concept of Super Libre, but everything else was really good. Volador gets a big clean win over Sombra before their match, which he probably needed. This is major TV match number six (6) for these two in the last 365 days, but they kept it fresh and different and appropriate to the moment. Sombra’s dive into the crowd was neat, Volador’s destruction of Sombra was pretty impressive. Hoping the actual mask match has a whole lot less Tirantes. This is one of the best CMLL TV episodes of the year.
