Traumas out brawl Familia de Tijuana, Heroes Inmortales, Rey Bucanero

IWRG (SUN) 08/18/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, IWRG]
1) Andy Wu & Freelance b America VIP & Rey Tiburón
Debut for everyone but Freelance. Andy Wu is a Wrestle-1 trainee studying with Pantera. There is a Rey Tiburon from Acapulco, but the EdR recap suggests the rudos were also Asian. Freelance beat Tiburon.
2) Centvrión, Golden Magic, Mr. Leo b Ángel Dorado, Angel Dorado Jr., Hijo del Ángel Dorado
Tecnicos took 2/3. Dorados debuted and worked as rudos here, but to a loss. Golden Magic got Angel Jr. with a springboard into a Spanish Fly. Crowd liked the match.
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo b Bugambilia, Diva Salvaje, Miss Gaviota
Rudos took 1/3. Avisman was down and grabbing his elbow after a third fall dive. Refs paid attention to him, and not Diablo sneaking in a foul on Bugambilia for the win. Bugambilia looked hurt earlier in the match when an Apolo Estrada Jr. legdrop ended up with Apolo’s backside landing on Bugambilia’s head.
4) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Saruman b Dinamic Black, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pantera
Wagner pinned Hijo de Pirata Morgan with his feet on the ropes and had earlier challenged for a title shot. EdR’s recap suggested Saruman is already considering going back to the tecnico side.
5) Trauma I & Trauma II b Eterno & X-Fly
FdT were still very angry about the Traumas leaving Super Nova hurt on Thursday, and got themselves DQ for excessive violence in the first. Brawl continued thru the second (and into the crowd), and the Traumas submitted the FdT there. Fans turned on the Traumas in the end, though neither side made much of it.

I did not stay up long enough to watch the main event but now I really want to see it tonight. Mr. Leo’s changed his mask so he looks a lot less like Puma (King.) Exotico and Gringos seemed to be building a match for next week.

Help me out with the Angel Dorados if you know. I’ve got four of them: Angel Sr. (or “I”), Angel Jr., Hijo del Angel and Angel II. Do I have one too many?

Court Bauer amusingly turned “Vague ideas on matches” into “rumored/leaked card” for Heroes Inmortales on today’s MLW Radio podcast. Is that how every one reads those things? I need to write better. Anyway, the upside here is Konnan said (probably) yes to Texano/Psycho and no to Secta/Perros and Dinastia/Mini Abismo, reminding us that AAA does not always act logically. Minis being passed over is no surprise, but no idea what the Secta are up to.

By the way, the La Secta teases from the Xalapa taping were well done. The ground work was laid for their turn, but it’s still going to come as a surprise to most people when it airs this weekend.

CMLL has their own press release on Rey Bucanero’s trip to NJPW. They confirm Bucanero is going for the entire tour, leaving 09/03 and returning around 09/30. That would’ve really messed up the Universal tournament had his team won last night and Bucanero advanced, very lucky things turned out how they did. This is not said, but this tour figures to be a make up for Bucanero not making it to this year’s FantasticaMania due his knee injury. (Mistico still hasn’t gone.) Bucanero leaving in a couple weeks means there’s unlikely to be any near term certainty about TRT’s membership, but they’d be better off keeping Tiger around so they can still be three people (and one Comandante) strong for the moment.

Negro Casas talks about his feelings going into and after the 76th Anniversary show. Text and video, and it looks like it might be the first of a series of Anniversary look backs leading into this year’s show.

Drago & Argenis are 4-1 on their AJPW tour, taking their first loss today to a Kenzo Suzuki tag team. Drago used something labeled as ‘Jorge Clutch’ on 08/16, which I presume is a Skayde Special or something like it.

Rey Cometa main events a show in his home arena next Friday.

Ohtani’s Jacket watches indy lucha from 2013.

DJ Spectro looks back at Lou Thesz vs Canek and Dr. Wagner & Angel Blanco vs Super Star & Enrique Vera.

Lineups

IWRG (SUN) 08/25/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) ? & ?? vs ? & ??
2) Astro Rey Jr. & Freelance vs Carta Brava Jr. & Imposible

5) Eterno & X-Fly vs Trauma I & Trauma II [IWRG IC TAG]
X-Fly, Eterno are champions, first defense

Traumas feel like they should already be the tag team champions, since they’re the most important team.

IWRG/AULL match should be fun. And it’s great that second match will make TV.

CMLL (SUN) 08/25/2013 Arena Coliseo
1) Oro Jr. & Robin vs Espanto Jr. & Guerrero Negro Jr.
2) Metálico, Molotov, Starman vs Hijo del Signo, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Estrellita, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
4) Fuego vs Shigeo Okumura [lightning]
5) Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, Super Porky vs Euforia, Felino, Taichi
6) Atlantis, La Máscara, Máximo vs Hiroshi Tanahashi, Pierroth, Terrible

If that’s the main event they’re putting Tanahashi in, they might as well just let send him to the beach with a funny colored drink. Not that the semimain is much better. Not that much of anything on this card is much better.

Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water, Metalico versus Hijo del Signo returns. The horror.

IWRG FILL (TUE) 08/27/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) Black Niko, Ultimo Caballero, Voltar vs Mercenario De La Muerte, Payaso De Plata, Payaso Extreme
2) Alas de Acero & Electro Boy vs Atomic Star & El Ídolo
3) Aliado De Dios, Príncipe Azteca, Zurdo vs Blue Monster, Divino Montana, Látigo
4) Kiuby, Rey Espacial, Super Cash vs Fulgore II, Mr. Leo, Power Bull
Konkreto Gym (Team Kiuby) vs FILL
5) Dagora, Dragón Celestial, Emperador Azteca, Fulgor I, Matrix Jr., Picudo Jr., Seiya, Sky Ángel vs Andy Boy, Haziel, Karate Kid, Orion, Pequeno Gronda XXX, Skrull Metal, Soldado De La Muerte, Star Boy Jr. [Copa Higher Power]
FILL vs Gym Tony Rivera

A lot of the longer running IWRG students seem to have graduated out of these shows – Picudo, Fulgor and Seiya are the biggest names on their team. Tony Rivera’s team has had some turn over since we saw him last.

Mr. Leo used to be in Konkreto Gym and defeated, so that’s sort of a revenge match.
