taped 2013-07-07 @ Centro Civico Nueva Aragon, Ecatepec, Estado de Mexico
Alebrije, Atomic Boy, Niño Hamburguesa vs Carta Brava Jr., El Apache, Mamba: Mostly comedy match, which was fine for the opener and works with what most of these guys do. Carta Brava didn’t quite fit in and Atomic Boy didn’t do much, but he may have had no choice in that. Atomic Boy grabbed his bad shoulder just after a normal fireman’s drop on Apache, not something that would seem to cause a shoulder problem unless it was already really messed up. The Atomic Boy/Apache feud no longer feels like it’s setting up a mask vs hair match anytime soon.
Drago, Fénix, Flamita vs Pentagón Jr., Steve Pain, Último Gladiador: Entertaining, but also sloppy at times and disjointed. They tried a lot of creative stuff, not all of it is going to work out, but it came off as worse than other matches they’ve done lately. The early rudo domination was as much doing moves for the sake of doing moves as you’re going to get; they scrapped any notion of trying to win for a while. There was still some exciting parts but they can do better.
Angélico, Jack Evans, La Parka vs Chessman, Eterno, Parka Negra: Match was fine, usual AAA house show style trios match with more comedy and less action because it was Parka match. Slower paced too, but steady. Eterno fit in fine again and Parka Negra had more interesting moments than usual. Jack did crazy Jack things.
Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Canek, Silver King, Texano Jr.: A Psycho Circus match. Less of their usual spots, but the same kind of action with added Canek (who’s turn last week didn’t seem to mean anything here.) This taping felt like a house show that happened to be televised and this would be a suitable main event for that. Nothing wrong, but nothing memorable. Crowd was so much louder for the matches on these shows than the TVC thing. It’s clearly a post production issue.
