recap

Camaleón & Metatrón vs Camorra & Ramstein: An okay opener. Shorter than usual and no one did anything particularly interesting, but no one did anything particularly horrible. Net win. Camaleon’s had better matches, Metatron’s had worse.

Bushi learns never to trust Puma

Pegasso, Starman, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Hooligan, Nitro, Skándalo: Usual Tuareg segunda. Everyone works fine with each other, but this was a match without particular highlights for me. I did like how Pegasso fought the Skandalo Driver at the end, not that it helped him at all. Super Halcón is a perfectly acceptable luchador on his own and it’s surprising he got to that point.

Mascara Dorada springboard torito

Bushiroad, Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado vs Felino, Pólvora, Puma: Hurried match, which is fine with Felino. There were hints of a better match if given more time, but this was okay for the time it lasted. Bushiroad is fitting in fine, maybe too well – he comes off as generic CMLL midcard técnico #45 at times, and it’d be better if he actually added an element. Puma is strangely underutilized.

Thunder tope con giro is the best thing he does

Máscara Dorada vs Averno for the NWA World Welterweight Championship: Good match, but stuck to the formula and the clichés too much to be memorable; I think everyone would be shocked if someone hit that top rope senton con giro (though not wasn’t the time for it.) Dorada looks his usual great stuff, but this didn’t push them farther or differently than you might see them in other matches, just more of it. Even the post match rudo giving the técnico the belt bit has been done so many times by Averno. Still a fun match, but in no way a novel one.

Mistico sky high headscisoosrs (with UG in the way)

Mistico, Thunder, Valiente vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero: Short match featuring two guys who aren’t up to speed. Thunder was really slow on the comeback turnaround spots and really slow on the finish. The less he does, the better for Thunder. Gran Guerrero was in the wrong spot at the wrong times, though he did manage to catch Valiente’s dive fine. Neither guy is good enough to be where they are yet. Match wasn’t much.

UG shocked by obvious foul
