recap
taped 2013-05-24 @ Auditorio Municipal de Tampico
Faby Apache, Flamita, Octagoncito vs Eterno, Mini Charly Manson, Taya Valkyrie: Another good mixed match, as they’ve tended to be. Eterno looks really good working with the técnicos, and sometimes it seems like Mini Charly is better in these matches than straight mini ones. Flamita did some fun things and also looked like he had some small issues along the way – his dive being cut is not a great sign – but he’s right where he should be for working in the openers. In theory, it’d be nice if there was anything going on with the women, but in reality, I’m not sure there’s a match I really need to see and Faby’s good in these mixed matches.
Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Angélico & Jack Evans: An okay/good spot exhibition with nothing approaching selling. It wasn’t CMLL like move turn taking, but it was a lot of people taking flashy moves and then getting right back up to hit their own move. There wasn’t a floor or a story, it was just a lot of offense. Most of it looked pretty good and Niño Hamburugesa was less annoying. Should’ve kept the plastic shark for the match.
Escoria, Fénix, La Parka vs Daga, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.: What a goofball finish. If you’re going to make your great fantastic move seem totally irrelevant, then don’t do the move! Match was otherwise fine and kind of better than usual because it went a fine amount of time. It seemed just to exist so Villano IV could run in on something but it was a good time before that point. I wonder how many times Villano 4’s team was changed. It did start out as the Villanos, and by here it was UWA guys and Mascara Año 2000 really wouldn’t be considered one of those. Maybe they really did think Wagner was coming back as a rudo or something.
Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Villano IV: fine enough Psycho Clown match. I had no interest in the match up but they had their usual match. Got a few more minutes than the previous trios match and didn’t feel as overshadowed by the post match run-in as that match.
