recap

Lucky Boy or maybe Nino de Ebano

Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano vs Carta Brava Jr. & Eterno: Fun opener. Eterno worked better with the técnicos than Carta Brava, but Eterno’s had a bit more practice. Lucky Boy’s dive near the end was really good (and it was nice to see them not do the double Brillo Dorada in every match, actually.) Result was surprising, but suggests result here don’t matter all that much. The finish was sort of sudden after all the near falls prior to it.

this was a poor plan!

Faby Apache & La Jarochita vs La Hechicera & Mary Apache: Seemed like a pretty ordinary match most of the way, but turned pretty fun in the last few minutes. Hechciera and Jarochita wasn’t the best mix together, but they were both okay working with the Apaches. There are better regulars than Jarochita, but she always looks like she’s putting in the effort. No problems with this.

superplex of near doom

Fénix, Heavy Metal, La Parka vs Chessman, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.: Heavy Metal seemed like he should’ve been the key person in this match, but he was barely involved in it for long stretches before the finish. I don’t know what the deal was, but if the rudo is saying your guy is washed up, he ought to not look washed up and Metal didn’t do enough to prove his case. Finish they were doing wasn’t helped by La Parka, otherwise not getting out of first gear, deciding to do a random crowd brawl with Parka Negra. This should’ve come together better.

Fenix’s cartoon selling is underrated

Blue Demon Jr., El Mesías, Electroshock vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Texano Jr.: Heck of a spear Chessman gave Texano – he was knocked out for near half a minute! Match was usual AAA main event with everyone getting in a lot of spots. Match was okay if routine. They got over the Demon/Mesias match well enough. It’s weird for Demon and Mesías to be having an argument about who’s the best guy when they both just pinned the champion, but I think that’s about where the champion ranks.
