BSW (FRI) 05/31/2013 Auditorio de Tijuana [The Gladiatores]
1) Black Zygon & Dragon Chino b Firebird & Silencio Negro
2) Eddie Randle, Ryan Kid, Socal Crazy b Duke, Johnny Goodtime, Johnny Yuma
Team San Diego beating Team Los Angeles (in Tijuana)
3) Angel Garces & Enfermero Jr. b King Azteca & Rubi Gardenia [relevos suicidas]
There was a moment of applause for Hector Garza, Rocky Roman and “the parent of Hijo de Rey Misterio.”
4) Rubi Gardenia b King Azteca [hair]
Rubi won via hurracarrana.
5) Atlantis DQ Último Guerrero
UG jumped Atlantis, but Atlantis came back to take the first with an Atlantida. UG pinned Atlantis with his feet on the ropes in the second. UG fouled Atlantis in the third, faked his own foul, and was caught for a DQ.
6) Mil Mascaras & Rayo de Jalisco Jr. DQ Canek & Cien Caras Jr.
Tecnicos took 1/3, with Canek desperately fouling Mil.
This was the show Ultimo Guerrero was at instead of screaming at Misterioso. The building is really dark in pictures; might have been an okay draw, but it’s tough to tell.
CMLL (SUN) 06/02/2013 Arena Mexico [@therealfredo, CMLL]
1) Metálico & Starman b Disturbio & Hijo del Signo
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma, Tritón b Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
Rudos took 1/3. Triton was shaken up after taking an Azul style german suplex from Okumura to end the first fall, but continued on in the match. Virus submitted Fantasma.
3) Euforia, Shinsuke Nakamura, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Rush
Rudos took 1/3, Nakamura using the ropes to pin Rush in the third. Rush was angry (more so than usual) and demanded a match with Nakamura next week.
4) Máscara Dorada b Negro Casas [NWA WELTER]
Dorada pinned Casas in the first. Casas tried the casita two times in the second, Dorada stopped him both times, but Casas got in a third and that one worked to even the match. Dorada used a casita of his own to take third and the title. Excellent match. Mascara Dorada is the new champion (4th or 61st depending on how you’re counting), Negro Casas falls on his seventh defense. Both were complimentary of each other after the match.
5) Pequeño Violencia L Fantasy, Aéreo, Eléctrico, Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior, Bam Bam, Shockercito, Mercurio [cage, mask, hair]
Minis were required to say in only for 3 minutes, though Bam Bam tried to bolt right at the beginning of the match and was sent back in. Order of escape went Pequeno Warrior, Fantasy, Pequeno Nitro, Electrico (all the masked guys out early), Demus, Aereo, Mercurio, and Bam Bam beating out Violencia & Shockercito. Those two, who had been feuding back in April, fought to a fall for a few minutes, with Shockercito getting the reinrea on Violencia for the win. Shockercito has succesfully defended his hair 5 times and won the last two minis cage matches, while Violencia has lost all 4 times he’s had to defend his hair.
I missed the third fall of Dorada & Negro but it was said to be great. Cage match was a cage match. Violencia was angry with his rudo friends for leaving him behind, but it’s everyone for themselves. So glad we’re getting Nakamura vs Rush after all.
CMLL (SUN) 06/02/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl, @Anicetagtz]
1) Índigo & Javier Cruz Jr. b El Tapatío & Thunder Boy
Indigo replaced Idolo. Tecnicos took 1/3, the last with powerbombs.
2) Azteca de Oro, El Divino, Sky Kid DQ Acertijo, Demonio Rojo, Sádico
Tecnicos took 2/3, Azteca de Oro faking a foul in the third. (Recap is unclear on this finish.)
3) Demonio Maya, Espectrum, Exterminador b Black Metal, El Hippie, Esfinge
Surprising straight fall win for the rudos, with Exterminador sneaking in a foul on El Hippie. This speedily sets up an Extermaindor/Hippie hair match for next Sunday.
4) Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa, Smaker b Bárbaro Cavernario, Puma, Tiger
tecnicos took 1/3, Smaker beating Barbaro in the main event.
5) Rey Escorpión b Gallo [CMLL LH]
Gallo pinned Escorpion in the first, but Escorpion won two straight falls with powerbombs in the second and third. Rey Escorpion’s second defense. Said to be a very good match, and Escorpion complimented Gallo in a post match interview.
Hippie and Exterminador have had interactions the last three weeks, so this was probably built better than was communicated. Seemed to come out of nowhere for me.
Friday, Group Via – the group responsible for putting on the lucha libre show in the Zocalo – and Hijo del Santo held a press conference to explain why Santo wasn’t on the card despite being advertised. Both sides blamed a lack of confusion and were very kind to each other, because Santo is going to be working their next show in September. Both sides also talked about doing a mask vs mask match, which Santo suggested one of the TxT rivalries – himself versus Solitario, or LA Park vs Dr. Wagner as possibilities. I’ve read a couple different versions of this, and Santo seems to only call it a possibility in almost every article. This blurry photo of Metro’s article (not online) somehow heard this as Hijo del Santo vs LA Park vs Dr. Wagner for a mask, which I don’t believe Santo even hinted at. That’s not happening, none of these mask matches are happening – if LA Park and Dr. Wagner Jr. were demanding a 40,000 seat building (with 40,000 ticket buying people in it, they’d hope) last month, they’re not going to suddenly do it in front of a free crowd. There’s obviously some money in this group given who’s working these shows, but not that much money. Maybe there’s enough money to do the Shu el Guerrero vs Super Muneco match that’s been hinted at.
In that same interview, Hijo del Santo he has a verbal agreement for a Hijo del Santo and LA Park and his Santo documentary won’t be done this year.
The Los Exoticos documentary premiered this weekend. Black Terry Jr. has photos from the showing.
Rob has highlights from October & November 1998 AAA, and a 15 minute video highlight package on Hector Garza you should check out.

Lucha Libre in Japan
06/02 Stardom: Dark Angel beat Yuhi [Wonder of Stardom]
Second defense. Dark Angel mentioned on Twitter that she’s headed back to Mexico after this match, so CMLL gets one more (star shaped) title!
06/01 NJPW: Titan defeated Taichi with a crucifix [BOSJ]
Taichi had threatened on Twitter to take Titan’s mask and did so even after the loss. Titan demanded a mask vs hair match.
06/02 NJPW: Ricochet defeated Titan with a 630 splash [BOSJ]
This leaves Titan at 2-3. He’s at 4 points, tied for 5 in his block. He pretty much needs to win out to advance. Titan faces Alex Shelley tomorrow morning.
R de Rudo a nice message from Titan, talking about NJPW’s tribute to Hector Garza and his BOSJ experiences so far.
06/02 NOAH: Super Crazy b Daisuke Harada – Crazy challenged for the Junior Heavyweight singles title after the match. Pesadilla should be over here, but is not listed on lineups until 06/08 (where he faces off against Super Crazy.) Maybe they’re just letting him get used to Japan for a week.

- This appears to be footage of the segunda from DTU’s 05/25 show in Ecatepec; it was scheduled to be Nino de Ebano, Kaleth, Lanzeloth, and Angel del Misterio, but Yuta’s obviously in it and there are probably other changes.
- That same building looks to have sold out for tonight’s show with Daga, Fenix, Ares and Pentagon Jr.
- Perro Aguayo Jr. promised blood and a shaved Cibernetico for TripleMania.
- Porra Fresa has an interview with local luchadora Luna de Plata.

8) ?, ??, ??? vs ????, ?????, ?????? [CMLL TRIOS, semifinal]
9) ?, ??, ??? vs ????, ?????, ?????? [CMLL TRIOS, semifinal]
10) Rush vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Rush versus Nakamura! This is the right building to do in, too. I think Nakamura’s ending up with the same singles match record as Yujiro did last time, but this should be a pretty fun match regardless of the finish.
The first round En Busca de un Idolo meant this trios tournament had to take place on a Sunday (unless they wanted a marathon of a show), and so it turns up next Sunday. They’re not deciding new champions next week – the lineup says this is just to determine finalists – which actually is great because it’ll give more time to the matches on this show and we’ll get a full three fall match next week. A lot of really good teams in this – Cometa replacing Dorada in Generacion Dorada is an inspired decision. Everything’s been pointed to Estates del Aire making the final and that still seems to be case. The Guerreros probably will have to deal with the Revolucionarios or Reyes del Atlantida – or both! – if they want to make the final round.
Trios tournament final means the other cage match they’re teasing is probably happening Friday, and not head to head with TripleMania. CMLL also did announce discounted tickets for that show. We need to thank AAA for persuading CMLL to try a little harder one June Sunday a year.
CMLL (SUN) 06/09/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Índigo & Metalik vs El Piraña & Relampago
2) Azteca de Oro, El Divino, Sky Kid vs Acertijo, Demonio Rojo, Sádico
3) Esfinge, Gallo, Tritón vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Maléfico, Shigeo Okumura
4) El Hippie vs Exterminador [hair]
5) Hijo del Fantasma & Máximo vs Mephisto & Mr. Niebla
Mr. Niebla’s been booked only very infrequently since his latest return; this will be the first time he has two matches in a week. (That may be tied in Peste Negra wasn’t chosen for the trios tournament.) It’s a main event of downplayed rivalries.
Metalik – Mascara Dorada’s brother – hasn’t been here in over a year.

Everyone should watch Rob’s Garza video and read KrisZ’s Obit from last week. I haven’t made it through the LuchaWorld podcast yet, but those are my two favorite Garza pieces from the last week so far. Rob’s video has lots of great footage I had never seen before.
The Tercera Caida special was fun too. Nice to see the 2009 interview again, and while the matches that led to him winning the National Heavyweight Title weren’t his best work by any means, it was nice to see him having fun in the ring.
Thanks Alan, it was fun putting that together. I did it straight from memory of my favorite Garza moments so I know I left some stuff out but I think I got enough to sum up his career quite well. I purposely left out any WWF/WCW/TNA stuff as to not worry about getting hit with copyright notices.
My favorite part of the 3ra Caida interview is when he flat out says he wouldn’t go to WWE b/c they don’t respect Mexicans he’d “always be losing to guys like Batista” so he’s just happy with his position in Mexico and being treated like the star he is. GUESS MISTICO DIDN’T WATCH THAT INTERVIEW!
I had the privelage of watching the entire Dorada/Negro match and this is definitely one you should all be downloading immediatly whenever Cubs puts it up. Just a fantastic match. I’ve got it right below Volador/Escorpion for my match of the year right now. The post-match where Negro puts over Dorada on the mic was great too. Must-see stuff.
Any new on the TripleMania i-ppv details? Seems like they’re leaving it a tad late to announce.
No, and I really meant to write about today. Let’s see if I can remember Tuesday.
