Sombra is great

recap

taped 2013-04-26 @ Arena Mexico

triple tope

Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Ephesto, Felino, Mephisto: a heavily edited match that was fine for what we saw. Poor Guerrero Maya, about 1/4th of his offense was tope-ing his own partner. This would’ve been a nice bonus if it hadn’t aired some place else as well (so instead it was just sort of weird.) Worth nothing the Televisa version was a quite bit longer; I would’ve guessed the other way (but ended up doing this way because it was the available option at the time) and has all the Guerrero Maya time I wanted, and time for other guys too. Match isn’t good enough to require a rewatch but definitely preferable on Televisa

Rey Escorpion takes crazy fall, Hombre Bala tries to out crazy him

La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Rush vs Terrible, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.: A good match in another situation, this one was so laughable short as to better make a mockery of CMLL than anything I could possibly do. They tried to get in as much as they could in the time they had, and no one sprinted around the ring more than Mascara Dorada, but it was also very silly that they tried to do three falls here. That was one deadly Volador Spiral.

Aerostar dive

Atlantis & Hombre Bala Jr. vs Boby Zavala & Rey Escorpión in a CMLL Gran Alternativa Tournament final match: GREAT – an intense, dramatic match with some huge moves. Seeing Boby Zavala in with Atlantis felt jarring, but both novatos did very well for themselves during the match and Zavala & Escorpion came off as a regular unit. Bala took things to crazy levels, even for him, and it felt overall like an important match by both teams going beyond what they normally did. Finish came on very sudden, and was right after the técnicos just landed bit dives with not much in between, but there was a lot of good stuff leading up to it.
