Dinastía, Máscarita Divina, Rey Celestial vs Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Charly Manson, Mini Histeria: Great match. Non stop action, mostly the técnicos leading the way, but the rudos keeping up and getting their shots. Dinastía and Mini Abismo (who appears all the way back) always get talked up, and Histeria’s gotten credit for working well with Dinastía (and did again here), but the other three held up their end of the match pretty well. Charly is inconsistent but looked good here. Rey Celestial only had a couple moments when he seemed a nervous debutante, and held up to the high standards of this match. Mascarita Divina seemed like the third most impressive técnico on his team until the last minute stretch where he was breaking out incredible difficult stuff and doing it well. The one nit pick I had is they were rarely trying to actually win the match; especially the rudos, who would do a big move that might end the match and then kick the downed opponent out of the ring. They were so focusing on lining up the next bit that they didn’t stop to make the previous one seem like it mean something. Still, this was as good a minis match as has been had this year.
Aerostar, Argenis, Fénix vs Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker: Another very good match! Tecnicos were pulling off crazy offense all over the place, Rockers looked great despite the loss. Fenix was spectacular and the finish was really well done (and also the right thing to right after a Fenix video package.) Aerostar’s troubles kept this from being a little bit better – he seemed like a guy who was trying high risk things because he didn’t know when he might be on TV again to try it, would’ve been better taking it easier, and was much better when he regained the ability to participate in the match again. Besides that, this was the perfect match to make all these guys seem very exciting.
Blue Demon Jr. & El Mesías vs LA Park & Texano Jr.: The técnicos had the least convincing reasons to argue with each other multiple times in this match, and then beat the rudos completely and cleanly anyway. Pick a lane! Mesías shouldn’t be beating Texano unless he’s getting another title shot – maybe he is? This looked like a four way coming, but obviously no LA Park now. Match was alright, bordering on good, but not near the other other two matches.

Hey I’m a little late chiming in with CMLL Mini Extravaganza on the Fight Network Canada this week…
Show 1 was: 2010-11-12 Arena Mexico 2 of 6: Astral, Eléctrico, Pequeño Maximo b Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito *
Missed it all because in Canada it was Bret Hart appreciation night and that aired live after RAW went off the air for Canadian viewers.
Show 2:
2010-11-26 Arena Mexico 2 of 6: Eléctrico, Fantasy, Pequeño Maximo b Astral, Bam Bam, Último Dragoncito
in an all tecnicos battle. Bam Bam was the antagonist as they were leading into Electrico vs. Bam Bam for the minis title at the time. Electrico was making fun of Bam Bam’s abs as he was wearing a shirt, Bam Bam hit a nice tornillo and landed on his feet and took the opportunity to make fun of the fallen Electrico. Bam Bam was ultimately pinned to make it look like Electrico was coming for that title.
I’m pretty sure after looking at the show index that match 1 aired previously but match 2 did not.
