05/28 Update (2): AAA’s article on the press conference leads off with a photo of Wagner, Electroshock and Parka posing together, then says the trios match is Wagner, Electroshock and Octagon vs Villano IV, Mascara Ano 2000, and the previously unmentioned Universo 2000. I dunno! Wagner didn’t come back before TripleMania to not be on TripleMania, so something’s going to happen between now and the end of that show. There’s still the taping in Toluca on Thursday, where it looks like Wagner is teaming with Cibernetico & Mesias vs Villano IV, Perro Jr., and Canek.
05/28 Update: this should be the final lineup, except for one match no one’s sure of. Notes from the press conference
- There’s no new details about the iPPV, only that there is iPPV. I didn’t see any mention of the movie theater deal. This will probably all be better explained when they start sending out the press release.
- The TNA vs Psycho Circus trio was officially announced. The trios titles do not appear to be on the line.
- Hugo was added as Mesias’ second and also reads like slightly rudo
- Heavy Metal did not attend the press conference. Texano and Chessman agreed Heavy Metal was no good and they’ll just end up having the match. The AAA Mega Championship also did not attend the press conference.
- A fair amount of people on the show were not on the press conference, actually. (There is a another press conference in Toluca for that show today.)
- There was a momentary fake out involving Konnan putting Parka Negra on Villano IV’s team, but Wagner crashed the press conference to announce himself as the third man. Konnan and Wagner proceeded to argue, so it looks like Wagner might end up being a tecnico out of this; Wagner challenged Konnan to face him in the ring and said he wanted to be friends with Joaquin (who signed him for this match somehow.) It’s really unclear what match was actually made out of all of this, but I’ve got the one they seemed to announced.
- people were shocked about Wagner returning and not being completely honest about leaving forever. LOL. I hope Wagner gets respected for the performance artist he is someday.
- Mascara Ano 2000 manages to be on TripleMania two years in a row, unlike his son.
- Blue Demon Jr. wanted Mesias to put his “Thundercats sword” on the line too, so Mesias asked for Demon to put his new title on the line too. Neither is happening.
- They talked about Hector Garza and sent their condolences to his family. Perro Jr., in his now usual bad sounding voice, dedicated the match to Hector. Both Cibernetico and Perro wanted no run-ins. Hahahaha.
No Atomic Boy and Apache – they don’t make the card in any fashion. No Canek either; perhaps the AAA vs indy trios will end up as Parka/Octagon/Electroshock/Wagner vs Villano IV/Mascara Ano 2000/Canek/Parka Negra.
The Atomicos was not mentioned at all. If AAA is doing a free preview show before TripleMania, it stands a chance of being moved to that show.
05/23 Update: Blue Demon vs Mesias official, but surprisingly for the Latin American championship.
This is only the card announced so far. Other matches strongly hinted at:
- Los Villanos (or at least a Villano IV lead team) vs La Parka, Octagon and a partner TBA – announced, just not yet placed on TripleMania
- Atomic Boy vs Gran Apache, mask vs hair – built towards, but uncertain if it’ll happen on this card
- The backstory for the AAA vs Indy match, which has been explained on TV but not here, are the indy guys believe they are legend and AAA has no legends.
WWL’s Monster Pain has also been billed as appearing by WWL, and AAA has hinted at TNA involvement. Canek is part of the TV tapings leading up to the show, so he may be involved. Dr. Wagner Jr. would also be expected on the card if he’s indeed returning in the next week. TripleMania usually runs between 7 and 9 matches, which wouldn’t leave any room for anything not mentioned so far. AAA has been releasing a match a day this week every afternoon. AAA will also hold a press conference on Tuesday, and the full lineup should be announced then.
TripleMania will air on PPV, in movie theaters, and on worldwide iPPV. The costs for these, and method of iPPV, have not been discussed. TripleMania’s listed start time is 6:30 pm (Central Time), though the first half hour would likely be a pre-show and the PPV would start at the top of the hour. The length of the show is unknown. AAA blocked out four hours for the last TripleMania to be on PPV, which sounds about right for this show.
The show should not be expected to air as part of AAA’s regular TV. AAA is taping just a couple days before the show in Leon, which remove any need to use TripleMania on TV. You’ll probably have to pay to see this any time soon.

This seems like a surprising amount of one on one matches.
Have they really not announced where the iPPV will be yet?
As of this week’s MLW Podcast, Konnan said that Jeff Jarrett(with Karen) and Matt Morgan from TNA will come in for TripleMania team with Monster Pain to take on the “Payasos” (I am guessing he meant Los Psycho Circus)
