Metálico vs Hijo del Signo in a lightning match: This match was not much good, and bad for Signo. This was the first singles meeting between two guys who had been feuding for weeks, and Signo didn’t bring any extra intensity or aggressiveness; he was more passive than usual. It seemed like there might have been a good match laid out if things worked out right, but a lot of stuff did not go well. Metálico wasn’t great himself, but Signo seemed like the problem more often than not. Unimpressive outing for a guy who got a chance to help himself out. CMLL had clearly made the decision to go with Rey Cometa & Namajague as the Arena Mexico Anniversary apuesta match before this one took place, which could’ve gone to this feud instead, and the match they had here justified the exclusion.
Marco Corleone, Rush, Thunder vs Ephesto, Felino, Terrible: uneventful match which was edited down for this show. I watched this live and didn’t at all pick up on how Marco never does a springboard and keeps it pretty non-impact thru the whole match. It really sticks out when you find out he’s out with a knee problem. He was still better than Thunder.
Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Máximo, Mephisto in a relevos increíbles match: Good match. It’s really unusual how the crowd reacted to Místico using La Mistica here. They didn’t boo him for ‘stealing’ the move. They didn’t cheer the move like they’d normally cheer a big spot. They just all went quiet for a moment, then came back to life after Volador interrupted things. Místico still doesn’t look smooth and was outclassed by everyone else in the match. Máximo seemed much more the reluctant rudo on the rewatch. Never enough Valiente.
