Delta vs Vangelis in a lightning match: Fine lightning match. Vangelis should get that Light Heavyweight Title match. Not just because it’s a running joke, not just because everyone should get a shot, but because it might actually be a good match at this point and it would give Mascara someone other than the same two guys to have singles matches against. It’d have to be a different match, but there’s nothing wrong with La Mascara attempting to have a different match. I’m all for it. Vangelis is rapidly bulking up, so they may have to get this done before he’s a heavyweight.
Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Shocker vs Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger: good match, maybe too long in the third fall – the tecnicos got in about everything, and then the match just ended. Tiger & Puma remain a good team, both working together and bumbling together to make the técnicos look good, and they seem to be teaming more often with Tiger sliding down the card a little bit and Puma moving back up. It’d be better if they were just a team, but I’ll take this. Shocker in with guys who want to do stuff is better than Shocker in with, say, the Peste Negra.
La Sombra, Máximo, Rush vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Volador Jr.: good build and finish to Volador and Sombra, who actually did absolutely nothing to each other but the mask pull at the end. Really only a standard match, done well but not anything these guys don’t normally do, but the great finish makes it stick out more. All the interactions over the last month or so have built this feud up, but I don’t think we’re seeing much more of it after Dos Leyendas.
