recap

Super backcracker

Camaleón, Magnus, Molotov vs Akuma, Apocalipsis, Artillero: This one seemed on the short side, but also not like I needed another two minutes. It was a normal amount of stuff, but it felt like basic/simple stuff outside of the finishes. Camaleón has really nice gear nowadays. I think he could be a bigger fish in a smaller pound, but it doesn’t seem like he’s ever going to get a chance here. Molotov and Magnus had no interaction despite their previous issues.

secret primera rudo handshake!

Taurus, Guerrero Negro Jr., Disturbio, Super Halcón Jr., Sensei, Oro Jr., Robin, Zayco, Inquisidor, Génesis [Sangre Nueva semifinal]: much less spectacular than last week’s match, but entirely less frustrating. Taurus looked promising but rough in the last few minutes; Guerrero Negro was the veteran necessary to keep it together, which makes me unsure how next week is going to go. Super Halcón looked sharper than most, and Sensei made his martial arts bits stick out well. Oro Jr. had one bad spot, which seems like one more than usual.

Oro Jr. is crazy

Guerrero Maya Jr., Super Porky, Valiente vs Kráneo, Misterioso Jr., Olímpico: Not good. It wasn’t just because it was a Porky match – he was mostly kept out after the first fall, though it wasn’t a great first fall either – but the normally reliable técnicos struggled in the second fall and there wasn’t much in the third fall to turn it around. Everyone’s had better matches.

Camaleon crushed

Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máximo: run of the mill silly Peste Negra match. Crowd enjoyed it, but it’s the same TV match you’ve seen many times with these guys.
