Rush defeats a busy Ultimo Guerrero, indy luchadors to be offered health insurancee

indy (SUN) 02/10/2013 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [LuchaMania Monterrey]
1) Mafter & Padrino b Misterio & Spawn
2) Baby Power, Danger Boy, Estruendo b Black Scorpio, Diablo, Muerte Guerrera
3) Rudy El Buitre & Super Jack b Erika Sotello & Sayko
4) Angel Dorado Jr & Cometa Jr. b Principe Guerrero I & Principe Guerrero II
Cometa Jr. is a one armed wrestler.
5) Corazon Chicano & Último Guerrero b Golden Boy & Silencio
Ultimo Guerrero beat Golden Boy with a Guerrero Special

indy (SUN) 02/10/2013 Arena Pavillón del Norte [Zocalo]
1) Dragón De Jade & Dragón Oriental b Argoz & Black Spartan
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Guerrero Del Ring, Hijo Del Guerrero Jr., Último Guerrero b Negro Navarro, Zorro Plateado, Zorro Plateado Jr.
team Ultimo took 1/3. They may have set up a rematch with the lesser Guerreros and the Zorros for next week.

Ultimo Guerrero also appeared in Arena el Jaguar. It was a busy day.

CMLL (MON) 02/11/2013 Arena Puebla [CMLL]
1) Aereo, Astral, Pequeño Halcón b Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia
Rudos probably took 1/3, but the result is missing. Rudos were definitely disqualified in the second for excessive violence. Mercurio gave Halcon a Mercurio Storm and Halcon was strechered out.
2) Espiritu Maligno, Fuerza Chicana, King Jaguar b Camaleón, Höruz, Leono
DF tecnicos (though Leono is from Puebla) vs Puebla rudos, with the locals taking a slight upset when Leono lost to King Jaguar in the third. Rudos took 2/3.
3) Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Marcela b Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Zeuxis
Tecnicas had “mistakes” in the third fall, but Marcela still got them win with a superplex on Zeuxis. Tecnicas took 1/3.
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Thunder b Euforia, Niebla Roja, Terrible
Tecnicos won 2/3, Maximo kissing Terrible to set up the win.
5) Rush b Último Guerrero
Rush took falls 1/3 to beat Ultimo Guerrero

This is the first time Rush has beaten Ultimo Guerrero. He lost to him in a heavyweight title match in June 2011, and in the Universal tournament that year.

The Mexico Secretary of Health and the Mexico City Box Y Lucha commission announced a plan to offer insurance to to independent luchadors. There’s no info yet on how much it’ll cost or what it’ll cover, and I don’t see anything on the Secretary of Health’s website, but more details are supposed to come in a few days. It’s a great deal if it’s something affordable and useful

CMLL Gaceta hypes today’s Arena Mexico show around Mr. Niebla vs Shocker.

The Estrellas del Ring clears up the UWE tag team tournament – it was a single elimination tournament (unless you went to a draw!), not the four way I had yesterday. Also, Pentagon Jr. worked the undercard, teaming with the Rayo Tapatios.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

La Copa talks briefly to Rocky Lobo and Lanzeloth (correct spelling) about their dark match on the recent AAA TV taping.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 02/17/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Novato vs Relampago Azul
2) Azteca de Oro & El Hippie vs Acertijo & Thunder Boy
3) Black Metal vs Sádico, Sky Kid [#1 Contenders, OCCIDENTE WELTER]
4) El Alteño, Halcón de Plata, León Blanco, Smaker vs Espectrum, Infierno, Mr. Trueno, Ráfaga
5) Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Shocker vs Olímpico, Pólvora, Tiger

If you’re a person who believed the old saying about Mexican wrestling being 20 years behind the time, then CMLL and IWRG discovering multiman matches in 2013 is right on schedule. Winner of the three is getting a shot at Leo.

Hippie, who laid on the mat to get pinned this past week, appears to have joined the tecnicos.

There was another Novato here in 2008 and 2009, but I’m assuming this is a new guy.

IWRG (SUN) 02/17/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) ? vs ??
2) Freelance, Hijo del Pantera, Saruman vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, Eita
3) Centvrión vs Golden Magic, Carta Brava Jr., Dinamic Black, Alan Extreme
4) Decnnis, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Scorpio Jr. vs Pantera, Trauma I, Veneno
5) Oficial 911 vs el Ángel, Trauma II [loser advances]
the two losers in this match will meet on 03/03 in a mask match

Trauma II is probably not losing his mask, but Trauma II versus either of those two would be the most vocal mask match.

The feud in the semimain appears to be Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr vs Veneno

CMLL (MON) 02/18/2013 Arena Puebla
1) Dinámikoo & Milenium vs Centauro de Fuego & Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Asturiano & Bengala vs Artillero & Blue Center
3) Astral vs Pequeño Olímpico [lightning]
4) Magnus, Starman, Stigma vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
5) Blue Panther, Shocker, Stuka Jr. vs Felino, Morphosis, Olímpico
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Mistico vs Kráneo, Psicosis, Volador Jr.
Mistico’s first match back since he injured his shoulder in January.

Mistico has gotten hurt twice in Arena Puebla, though he’s also got hurt a few times in Arena Mexico. He gets hurt a lot, but they seem to have the same plan to get him warmed up on the outside arenas as they do with Thunder. There’s another burst of CMLL spot shows this month, and those are all Peste Negra vs Bufete del Amor matches; they’re taking their time with Mistico now.

On the other hand, no Thunder here means he’s likely debuting in DF this upcoming week.

Card seems to have lesser amount of guys than usual (check out that fourth match tecnico side.) Blue Center is odd too; he’s been a tecnico here as long as I have records for, but hasn’t been seen since November. Blue Center is only 39.

Emilio (SAT) 03/02/2013 Arena La Centera
***Emilio Charles Jr. benefit show***
1) ? vs ??
2) Fetiche I, Fetiche II, Fetiche IIi vs Factor, Rayan, Spartan
3) Magnus & Yagho vs Tiger & Ultimo Diamante and Calendario Azteca & Poder Boricua and Gumaro & Toro Matancero and Kid Acero & Velathor and Centella Oriental & Sombra Del Angel and Kibito & Torando and Axus & Gran Markus and Darma & Hijo de Gran Markus [Trofeo Emilio Charles Jr.]
4) Máximo, Sagrado, Scorpio Jr. vs Fuerza Guerrera, Olímpico, Rey Escorpion (CMLL)
5) Atlantis, La Sombra, Rush vs Averno, Mr. Niebla, Pierko

The poster lists Pierroth in the main event, but that’s impossible. Comments suggest it’s Pierko. There’s a video promo for the show as well.

  1. Hoping IWRG does something screwy and we end up with a 3 way mask match on 3/3. That would have the best atmosphere.

Tell you what though – that 2/17 IWRG undercard looks unreal. FIVE MATCH FIGHTERS.
