Freesbe & Oro Jr. vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein: an opener! Oro Jr. continues to look promising but appears to know he’s good which may be a problem at some point. Apocalipsis may just hang out with Ramstein to feel slim, but he wasn’t bad here.
Aereo, Astral, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico: I know it was Olímpico who fouled Dragoncito for really no good reason, but I blame Demus for the rudos losing – he hit all sorts of moves but never went for a sure pin. This was not a long match but fine for the time. Wish they had a better shot of Astral’s move; I think he jumped from one set of ropes to another, which makes it a lot harder, but it’s barely visible.
Diamante, Fuego, Sagrado vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo: I feel like I checked out of this one pretty early and also feel like I made the right call. Match was technically fine but also technically the same match all these guys all the time at about the same speed. There’s nothing much to recommend this one, even if everything was executed more or less okay.
Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, La Máscara vs Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis: first fall was designed to point out how the rules are inconsistently applied and make no sense, and was successful in being so annoying. Rest of the match was a bit better and didn’t feel as much like a repeat as the previous one.
Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Titán vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto: kind of amazing, given how CMLL booked the last guy, that Místico took a pinfall in the very first fall back. Maybe it shouldn’t be amazing; Místico got last entrance and his music played and the rudos all went after his mask, but he was not treated like The Star in the match itself – Titan got the comeback spot, Dorada went last on the técnico showcases, and Titan got the submission in the end. Místico wasn’t buried and I’m not sure how much we should take out of a single match (especially one where Místico was still hurt), but this was not the Místico Show. He’s one of the guy, but you wouldn’t have thought he was meant to be the top guy based on this match. The match itself was pretty fun; falling maybe just short of the Great mark but definitely the most enjoyable match on this show.
