taped 2012-11-15 @ Arena Naucalpan
Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Toscano: a very usual match between tease teams that we\’ve seen before. It kept Silver/Toscano and Rockers/Clowns going and the crowd liked the técnicos, but there wasn\’t much to recommend it itself.
Dr. Wagner Jr. vs LA Park: obviously edited – it\’d be nice if a long version turned up at some point – but still a really great match. I complain about the action escalating too fast in some matches. Both guys were bleeding with in minutes of the match (as far as we saw) here, but you can do that when the match starts off with a flaming chair shot. The moments, especially in the first half of the match, where the crowd was going absolutely crazy for Dr. Wagner were as strong as moments as AAA has had all year. Everything, including the finish given these two guys histories and acts (there\’s no such thing as clean/dirty finishes when they\’re all fouls, I guess) worked extremely well and they came off as the biggest stars in the universe. This was great.
while we\’re at it:
Dr. Wagner Jr. vs LA Park (regional): nearly twice as long. The cuts were for time, they were most definitely were not for quality. The long play version adds three different trips into the crowd. Arena Naucalpan isn\’t big enough for meandering, so it\’s more violence and some amusing interactions with people at ringside. There\’s also a stretch in the ring removed, and a Park flying knee off the apron that\’s just great. This is more than great, this is an easy excellent, a match that has to be discussed in the best matches of the year, and maybe the definitive match in their long rivalry.
