Guerrero Mixtico Jr. unmasked, Casas keeps his title by crook, double hair match set for 01/01

AAA (TUE) 12/25/2012 Arena Neza [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring, lucas]
1) Toni Cirio Jr. & Tony Cirio b Belial & Diabolus
only of the Tonys snuck in a foul.
2) Cirujano Jr., Dr. Cerebro, Mike Segura b Neza Kid, Rey Lobo, Skayde
Rey Lobo and Dr. Cerbero feuded.
3) Murder Clown & Psycho Clown b Cuervo & Espíritu
Psycho seemed to have a hand injury during the match.
4) Comando Negro b Guerrero Mixtico Jr. [mask]
Guerrero Mixtico Jr. was unmasked as Jesús López Pacheco, 24 years old, 12 years a luchador, from Neza. He was accompanied by his father (Guerrero Mixtico Sr.”) “and his [father]’s partner, Luna Magica.” Comando Negro took falls 1/3, blocking a ‘rana into a piledriver in the third for the win. Negro’s mask was ripped to shreds by the end of the match and he bled a lot.
5) Drago & La Parka DQ Parka Negra & Pentagón Jr.
Comedy hardcore match.

CMLL (TUE) 12/25/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, CMLL Gaceta, Yahoo! Deportes (Photos)]
1) Camorra & Zayco b Bengala & Freesbe
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior b Fantasy, Shockercito, Stukita
Stukita’s CMLL debut, and he won the second fall with Stuka Jr.’s torpedo splash. Rudos took 1/3. Olimpico submitted Shockercito
3) Leono, Starman, Tigre Blanco DQ Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Virus
straight falls. Tecnicos took the first quick, Bobby Zavala fouled Tigre Blanco in the second. Leono challenged for a hairs vs hairs match. Disturbio accepted, but Zavala seemed reluctant. He explained he really wanted not to only take Blanco’s hair, but also retire Tigre Blanco. Everyone agreed to do the match next week, and the rudos laid out the tecnicos.
4) Goya Kong, Lady Afrodita, Marcela b Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
Tecnias took 2/3. Goya splashed the rudas for the win.
5) La Máscara, Shocker, Titán b Black Warrior, Felino, Pólvora
Rudos dominated the opening fall, but the tecnicos snuck out the fall. Polvora beat Shocker in the second, and Titan beat Polvora in the third and challenged for his title. Polvora walked off rather than respond.
6) Negro Casas b Guerrero Maya Jr. [NWA WELTER]
Seconds were Starman & Disturbio. Casas took 2/3 to keep his title. In the third, Negro survived the Sacrifica Maya, and the kickout sent Maya into Casas. Maya checked on the ref, and Casas took advantage to defeat him.

I have Disturbio & Zavala as slight favorites, mostly because Tigre Blanco was barely around until it came time to do this feud. Still, it’s a close call because Zavala & Disturbio haven’t accomplished anything in CMLL to this point (though CMLL Gaceta reminds us Zavala took Evola’s hair) and Leono was, at one point, highly thought of by CMLL.

The Yahoo photographer reminds us Stukita is the son of Halcon Suriano Jr. and the grandson of Halcon Suriano.

CMLL (TUE) 12/25/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Black Metal & Virgo b Demonio Maya & Magnum
tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Esfinge b Exterminador
One fall.
3) Bronco, Cancerbero, Raziel b Metálico, Pegasso, Sensei
Rudos took 1/3. Raziel & Cancerbero submitted Pegasso & Sensei.
4) Morphosis, Sangre Azteca, Vangelis b Gallo, Smaker, Tritón
Smaker replaced Rey Cometa. Rudos took 1/3. Vangelis pinned Triton.
5) Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla DQ Marco Corleone, Máscara Dorada, Máximo
Rudos took 1/3. rudos fouled Marco Corleone. Marco demanded a rematch.

Not sure what’s going on, but Rush hasn’t been on any CMLL card since the year end show. CMLL hasn’t posted Puebla’s lineup yet, but he’s not in Guadalajara or Mexico City still. He could just be around home, but no lineups have turned up, and Tala is close enough to Guadalajara to still be showing up there. (El Luchador sure seemed to suggest most of his family lives somewhere near Mexico City now, but that show is something less than fact.) It’s not clear exactly what match they’re setting up for this building. Could be Marco/Niebla, could be Pesta Negra vs Bufete del Amor based on next week’s lineup, but the latter would mean a Rush return on the eighth.

Meanwhile, Rush’s brother Mistico is still not on any lineup. NJPW appears fully focused on their 01/04 Tokyo Dome show, as they should be, so any announcements about FantasticaMania probably won’t be made until the day after that show. Maybe the more critical point is when next Sunday’s Arena Mexico card gets announced. That’s Three Kings day, a kid focused show where Mistico would headline if at all healthy. If he’s not on that lineup, then Mistico’s probably not making it back in front of a crowd before FantasicaMania, and his participation on those shows should be questioned.

AAA and CMLL luchadors faced off last night – on Televisa Deportes Network, Tribunal show. I have not seen it yet (though we should have part of it for next week’s video update), but the format is a sports mock trial and Negro Casas was the defendant for whatever they were up to. They did a CMLL vs AAA “why won’t you work together” thing about 18 month ago (you can see the long lasting effect of that) and I would assume this about the same thing. This must’ve been taped a while ago – no one’s doing these things on Christmas night – but airing it seemed to come as a surprise to everyone.

CMLL has an updated roster page, with pictures of just about everyone on the main roster. The roster is listed in some close to their level of importance. Maybe not the male rudos, where there are five different groups that are supposed to be the top group so you could list them many ways for the same results, but the others seem close to how I’d have it. I think Bronco is the only DF luchador who’s not on the list, and that may just because he hasn’t made it back to Arena Mexico yet for a photo. Los Coliseno points out the mascots need photos too, as does Isis. I think Isis is eventually supposed to be a luchadora, so that may be an easier fix.

Hijo del Santo says a documentary about him will be coming out in February, though he doesn’t know if it’ll be in film festivals or theaters. This would seem like something he should know by now, unless it’s just going to air once in February and then not again. Hijo del Santo repeats that he’d like this to open the door to more film work, and says the wrestling promoters don’t want him around because he sticks up for his fellow luchadors.

Arena Xalapa is headlined by a Eslabon Perdido vs Hijo del Tirantes singles match.

Arena Xalapa’s Posiedon vs Cosmos mask vs mask match was voted it’s match of the year.

Oaxacan luchador Pepe Cisneros has passed away, after a five year battle with cancer.

AULL and IWL are having a fight about Los Bastardos not showing up to last night’s card. Los Bastrados are saying they were never actually booked, IWL says they’re unprofessional and implies AULL talked them out of showing.

Captian Furia talks about his career.

Lineup

SACCOMATS (TUE) 01/01/2013 Arena Neza
1) ? vs ??
2) Belial & Diabolus vs Tony Cirio & Tony Cirio Jr.
3) Guerrero Mixtico, Mr. Leo, Neza Kid vs Comando Negro, Mike Segura, Súper Colt
4) Dr. Cerebro, Ray Mendoza Jr., Villano IV vs Fantastik, Henry, Rey Lobo
5) El Hijo del Solitario & Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Blue Demon Jr. & Dr. Wagner Jr.

The annual New Years Day show is on. It doesn’t have the mask match, but no one really expected that. It also doesn’t have Santo – he didn’t hear back from the promoter because they replaced him with Dr. Wagner Jr. No one should root harder for Wagner to stick with AAA or even CMLL. A truly independent Wagner would take away some of Santo’s work. (They’d do their best working together, but you can only really do the draw finish once and that might be the only finish they’d be willing to do together.)

CMLL (TUE) 01/01/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Génesis & Höruz vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Stigma, Super Halcón Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Nosferatu, Skándalo
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Tritón vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis
4) Pólvora vs Titán [CMLL WELTER]
Polvora is champion. Titan’s Mexican National Welterweight Championship is not on the line.
5) Leono & Tigre Blanco vs Bobby Zavala & Disturbio [hair]
losing team loses their hair
6) Atlantis, La Máscara, Shocker vs Averno, Mephisto, Tiger

Second straight year for a double apuesta match on New Year’s Day. Last year, it was the Gen11 due of Hombre Bala Jr. & Super Halcon Jr. taking the Rayo Tapatio’s masks (and retiring them from regular CMLL participation.) They’ll have a chance to do this three years in a row; New Year’s Day is a Wednesday, but they’ll probably push the Tuesday shows back a day next year.

Titan’s probably not going to win both Welterweight titles at once, Polvora is probably not going to be champion for only six weeks and this is most likely just to give Polvora the win back over Titan from the previous title change, but wouldn’t it be awesome if Titan won? (Yes.)

Guerrero Maya vs Kraneo!

CMLL (TUE) 01/01/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Leo & Metatrón vs Èvola & Thunder Boy
2) Halcón de Plata & Smaker vs Bárbaro Cavernario & Exterminador
3) Dark Angel, Luna Mágica, Silueta vs Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Zeuxis
4) Ángel de Oro, Gallo, Valiente vs Morphosis, Niebla Roja, Vangelis
5) Blue Panther, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Marco vs Mr. Niebla would be a pretty incredible match.
