Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Titán vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi : another fun match. Even Taichi screwed up in totally hilarious fashion. Really big showcase occasion for Titan and he came thru in flying colors, probably impressed a whole group of people who hadn’t really known of him before. I really want to see him an Namajague in a singles match now. Sombra looked very good despite not having the best to work with.
Rey Cometa vs Puma King for the mask 2 3: The perfect climax for this feud; everything they tried went great (even the near impossible Brillo tornillo!) and they played off the earlier matches strong. Both guys just kept surviving each other’s big moves, the ones that had one matches before (the casita) and the ones that looked like they were going to surely win this match (the superbomb.) Crowd was strongly siding with Puma King, but they were into the match all the way and treated like it was a main event, much better than you’d normally expect for guys of this level. Puma got a big meaningful win, and Cometa still looked important because of his effort. This was everything you wanted out of this match and one of the best of the year.
