Hombre Bala Jr., Molotov, Super Halcon Jr. vs Artillero, Bobby Zavala, Súper Comando: above compared the usual segunda they’ve been doing here. Super Comando and Bobby Zavala are good (as they usually are.) This week, Halcón looked like the decent member of his team and Bala looked like Halcón usually does. Molotov and Artillero were present.
Ángel Azteca Jr., Fuego, Pegasso vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Nitro: competent first two falls met a third fall that would not end. Rudos were doing nothing but working to a clock in their head, and the clock didn’t seem to be ticking for a while. Really wish they would’ve spent more time in the first fall, where they appeared to have some ideas. It seems like ‘more near falls near the finish’ is part of the new official policy, because the ones seem here don’t feel like they would’ve been here a few months ago. Not sure they needed to be here.
Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Marco Corleone vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger: this third fall was actually longer than the previous one, but did not feel that way; it was kept much exciting with a few momentum switches. It was not as a simple as a story, but the important part is they made use of their time. The key to Tiger actually getting over is not all the muscle mass he’s suddenly acquired, but beating someone and not being treated like the male version of La Seductora, as he was most of the way here and usually is in most matches. I’m not saying he should’ve beat Marco at the end, but they need to find someone for him to beat at some point. (What else do they have Fantasma for?)
Felino, Mr. Niebla, Yujiro vs Ángel de Oro, Máximo, Shocker: Shocker and Niebla looked worse than usual. (And that was before Shocker’s promo!) A singles match between them would not be a great idea, but they seemed determined to build to it (and not actually do it) every few months. Everyone else was just kind of walking thru their usual match and this didn’t hold any special interest.
