recap

Oro clutch?

taped 2012-04-24 @ Arena Mexico
Ángel de Oro vs Olímpico in a lightning match: This was Angel de Oro, star pupil of the Ultimo Guerrero school of wrestling, doing the same spots he does in every match in the same order he does in every match. I would’ve been even less enthused for him to go to Japan if this match aired previously. Amusing to see the surprise cradle for the tournament actually debut here. I wonder why he hasn’t been using it more often.

Eléctrico, Pequeño Halcón, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito: Right team won, at least. Tecnicos were all a little off – well, I’ve never actually seen Halcón on so I don’t know what it’d look like, but Dragoncito and Eléctrico did the same stuff here in other matches smoother. The randon Pierroth tribute was a nice touch and the rudos were enthusiastic.

Rush is STRONG

Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Escórpion, Último Guerrero, Yujiro: First fall seemed as disorganized as any indy match and everyone forgot who was the captain in the second, so this one got off to the rough start. Still, if you can watch this match from the end of second fall celebration thru the end of it, it’s worth your time. The odd ball trio of Máximo, Marco and Rush was firing on all cylinders and looked like more of a team then guys who’ve been teaming for years. They were great in the third fall. Also, Rey Escorpion is totally in the right, don’t trust Ultimo Guerrero to go up to the top rope.
