Fabi Apache, Mascarita Dorada, Octagoncito vs Mini Histeria, Mini Psicosis, Sexy Star: Liked it. Smoother than recent minis matches and better overall even though it was shorter. Simple finish, easy set up for next week. Good opener.
Daga & Fenix vs Cuervo & Ozz: It’s too bad AAA doesn’t do highlight videos of their matches, because this would be a great match in highlight video. You could take all the spots, rearrange them so they made sense and there was some sort of story, and show it for weeks. As is, there were a lot of spots in no particular order, just taking turns doing big near falls 90 seconds in the match and the rest of the way. It felt like the end last eight minutes of a twenty five minute match; it didn’t earn the intensity it wanted, because everyone was just popping right back after taking devastating moves, until they decided it wasn’t time for anyone to pop up anymore. There was no drama. This seemed as much a showcase of their weaknesses as strengths; the athletic effort was there, but more complete wrestler would’ve gotten more of it. It definitely should be noted that the crowd totally bought into it as exciting bout. It doesn’t mean my criticism are invalid, but it does mean it did exactly what it was meant to do.
Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Halloween, Héctor Garza, Psicosis: back to the usual Psycho Circus vs Perros del Mal match. Nicho as Psicosis didn’t add anything to this match (it was an odd match to unveil it), and Psicosis by any name didn’t look much good in this one.
Abyss & Chessman vs Joe Lider & Juventud Guerrera for the AAA World Tag Team Championship: This match made me as angry as an AAA match has in some time. Hijo de Tirantes counts every pin normally, until Juvi hits his finish, and then Tirantes suddenly remembers he’s a heel ref. AAA has trained me well, I can tolerate that much – but then for Tirantes to go back to counting pins like normal, that’s just insipid. Abyss remains worthless here, Joe Lider and Chessman are what they normally are, and I still haven’t got an opinion on Juvi. This match itself was just guys taking turns doing moves, same as the prior tag match, but less cool moves.
Cibernético & Dr. Wagner Jr. vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & LA Park: Not even the concept of a match here, just a sort of random three way nonsense bit, with most of the nonsense left in They worked this match like the other three guys really had no clue Jeff Jarrett wasn’t here until LA Park showed up, so points for realism. (The more I think about it, the less sure I am about what actually happened here.) Negative points for not really doing a match. Or at least just editing in the parts where they did not really do one. Park probably needs to develop his plans a little better next time.
