recap

taped 2012-04-24 @ Arena Mexico

Inquisidor, more useful than usual

Ángel Azteca Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Super Halcon Jr. vs Artillero, Inquisidor, Súper Comando: Eh match. Rudos made the técnicos look fine but didn’t do much on their own. Hombre Bala is actually improving. (Super Halcón is definitely not.) If Rey Cometa is not available to face Los Tuareg twice every week, I’d have no problem with Bala getting moved up into that spot. Super Comando is better than Artillero and looking strangely motivated for a guy stuck in his position.

big swing

Luna Mágica, Marcela, Silueta vs La Comandante, La Seductora, Tiffany: Just kind of an okay women’s match. Silueta also seems to be improving. Seductora is the world’s most unluckiest luchadora; if anything ever is about to happen badly to the rudas, it’s going to happen to her. Maybe she should switch from rabbit to black cat?

Sombra falls off the edge of the world

Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Sombra vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto: A really fun match. Everyone was good, but Averno was the best here, just a fantastic rudo. The expression and wave he did after ducking Sombra in the third fall was just the greatest, and he was doing that sort of thing all match. Finish was creative.

Volador & Dorada

Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, Máscara Dorada vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.: Surprisingly intense. This is what they need out of Diamante Azul; he can’t just be a big guy, he needs to be a big scary guy like he was when he was ripping Dragon Rojo shreds. This has been a pretty strong build up for a two week feud with one of the guys wrestling on one guy leg.
