TxT, CIMA in DTU, Ultimo Guerrero beats Diamante Azul

TxT (SAT) 06/02/2012 Gimnasio Juan De La Barrera [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del RingThe Gladiatores]
1) Alan Extreme, Carta Brava, Imposible b Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Saruman
2) Lobito b Mascarita Plateada [WWA MINI]
Plateda came in as champion, but Lobito took 1/3, to win the title. Plateada strechered out.
3) Súper Muñeco, Súper Pinocho, Súper Ratón b Black Terry, Scorpio Jr., Shu el Guerrero
Rudos jumped the tecnicos. Tecnicos still took 2/3. Muneco beat Shu el Guerrero with an armbar and challenged him to a mask match again.
4) Rayman & Rayo de Jalisco Jr. b Cien Caras Jr. & Máscara Año 2000 [WWA TAG]
WWA tag titles are listed as vacant. Perro and Garza held them last, and Perro still had his in his office last we saw. Rayos won the titles by taking 2/3. Benjamin Mora, who was the promoter of WWA back when there were WWA shows, was present to certify both title changes. Rayo still wants a mask match with Hijo de Cien Caras.
5) Blue Demon Jr., El Hijo Del Santo, Máscara Sagrada DQ Angel Blanco Jr., El Hijo del Solitario, Fuerza Guerrera
Blue Demon came to the arena wearing a neck collar, though it wasn’t clear why. Rudos hugged him before the match, teasing a turn, but attacked him all the same during it. Rudos tipped up Santo’s mask. Santo was about to win with a camel clutch on Fuerza, other rudos broke it up, and Fuerza fouled Santo. Rudos beat up the tecnicos after the match.

The Mascarita Platedita/Dorada situation is a odd. AAA doesn’t want him working TxT. I’m not sure if TxT feels mutual, but it looks like both promotions are having him lose out until he picks one.

DTU (SAT) 06/02/2012 Coliseo Tulancingo [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Rocky Lobo b Matrix, Jhonki, Articus, Hacker, Radical, Sky Ángel
Rocky Lobo took out the Estrellas del Ring reporter with a dive, but still won.
2) Extreme Boy ?? Lucky Boy, Nino Hambuerguesa, Slayer Pack
match not mentioned in results.
3) Ciclope b Black Fire, Poison [DTU ALTO]
Ciclope kept his title.
4) Hormiga b Principe Halcon [tables]
5) Araña de Plata Jr. & Pequeno Cobra vs Kaleth & Paranoiko and Dinastía & Eterno and Lanzeloth & Pesadilla [ladders]
Arena de Plata & Pequeno Cobra won and humiliated former leader Eterno. They’re undefeated as a tag team.
6) CIMA & Eita b Flamita & Super Mega and Drastik Boy & Violento Jack
Violento Boy was pinned by Mega & Eita, and CIMA pinned Flamita for the win.

CMLL (SUN) 06/03/2012 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, La Catedral]
1) Camorra, Ramstein, Zayco b Bengala, Black Silver, Robin
Debuting Black Silver is from Acapulco, where he wrestles as Black Silver Jr. Rudos took 2/3
2) Bobby Zavala, Hijo del Signo, Loco Max b Metálico, Sensei, Super Halcon Jr.
Bobby Zavala replaced Nitro. Rudos took 1/3.
3) Fuego, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. b Pólvora, Sangre Azteca, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 2/3, Sagrado pinning Polvora. Sangre & Stuka continue to feud.
4) Arkángel de la Muerte b Starman [lightning]
Unannounced bonus match. Arkangel beat Starman. Starman’s last known singles match was in 2000 in Japan, where he also lost to Arkangel.
5) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Marco Corleone, Valiente
Peste Negra took 2/3, Negro submitting Panther in the last.
6) Último Guerrero b Diamante Azul
Quick first two falls, long last fall. UG took 2/3, sneaking in a foul on Diamante in the third. Crowd got behind Diamante.

Daikirai lost his mask to Ludark Shaitan in the main event of the XMW show. He’s Juan Luis Quiroz, 30, 6 years a luchador, from Los Angeles. Ludark Shaitan talks about her win. With her cousin/usual opponent making her AAA TV debut Friday, Ludark should also be making her debut soon.

AAA TV’s aired the first half of the Night of Champions show. This taping didn’t appear as if it was going to be a double taping, going only five matches, but they aired Mari vs Fabi from 2008’s TripleMania in addition to the first three matches. Next week will probably also have a classic TripleMania match to pad out the show. It looks like AAA will be running at least six double tapings since Rey de Reyes, including a couple shows where it didn’t seem like that was the plan going in. AAA went thru a stretch like this last year, but I’d guess finding capable and solvent local promoters is a problem in the current economic situation.

AAA’s Twitter said ticket info for TripleMania will be announced next week.

SuperLuchas #464 has TripleMania hype. Inside, there’s a mention that the “Kaiser” who wrestled on the Valerie Office show is the now ex-Bizarro, going with a (legally safer!) new name.

Nueva Guia del Centro Historic de Mexico has a long piece on the history of Arena Coliseo;. Probably a lot you’ve read elsewhere (though the story of how they got the money to build it is always neat if you don’t know it.) CMLL says they draw 5,000 fans a month to the building. The WON has been reporting 1,000 – 2,000 attendence of late, and they’re only running 3-4 shows a month, so tha’ts probably right. Sandra Grandados explains the low number as “the fans prefer to watch lucha on TV.” In general yes, though CMLL technically does not have TV on Sundays. Granados explains they moved Tuesday shows due to insecurity and the long term road construction in the area; I guess the roads still become insecure one Sunday every month.

Rob has highlights of 01/20/12 CMLL and 05/22/12 CMLL.

Lucha Libre In Japan

06/03 NJPW: Prince Devitt [8] b Angel de Oro [8] [BOSJ]
Booo Devitt.

(via purolove) Michinoku Pro announced 15 participants in it’s three day mask man tournament (08/31-09/02). Todo x el Todo’s Solar and Villano IV are among those in the tournament. Sugi, occasionally in AAA, will be part of the shows, as well be Jushin Liger. I wasn’t expecting Liger to come to CMLL for another second half of the year stint, but that seems to clinch it.

  1. I did not see AAA today but based on Zuniga tweets they are filling time with “Classic” footage segments. It’s a fun way to make the show more interesting and get two episodes out of tapings.

Last week they didn’t seem like they needed to fill lots of time b/c the tv tapings promo and TM promos ran at least five times each.

  2. The insecurity grows at TUesday’s show cause it finish at 930 pm, a very dangerous time to walk around Coliseo
